That's good. He can claim he was speeding and this happened. He won't go to jail.

Damn but with damage like that, I don't know you if you could claim just speeding... Maybe with ice, or snow, or rain the story would be more easier to blame on something else.

Racing around Halsted and Archer, what an idiot. Thank God he only hurt himself and not run into another car. This is what the track is for folks.

Summer tires are just that...summer tires. Streets only need to be cold for summer only performance tires to slip.

You needn't be speeding or racing for performance tires to loose traction. Let's not make assumptions to how this happened until there are facts presented.

Whats the speed limit in that area? Probably 30-35mph maximum. You cannot tell me that all that damage happened from a car going 35mph.

I have no compassion for people like this because years ago my mom was badly hurt from a young little schit that thought its cool to be going 70mph down a 30mph street.

I'll admit that I speed, but I speed down a empty road with no side streets or when I have a big gap in between cars on the highway. Theres a big difference between that and racing down a residential street with potholes. You need to know your cars limits, the pavement youre dealing with and any unsuspecting surrounding that can jump out at you. To me it looks like this kid was gambling big time and lost.

I know what you mean. I don't know what I would do if it was my friend. But for sure wouldn't race down in Chicago.
