You're right. I completely forgot. That was mostly me expressing my distaste with the increasing isolation, weight, and size of vehicles.

As a 2.0t driver, I can attribute this to the weight and engine-neutering on Lexus's behalf in favour of reliability. BMW's also tend to underrate their engine so that would account for the massive difference. The biggest issue with the 2.0t is accelerator delay: it hesitates for at least a second when you're flooring it at a dead stop.

Welcome to CL, ALexGirl. I see you are a virtually new poster.

Any reason why the magenta-color type? Is that supposed to have some kind of special emphasis?

The redesigned Q60 looks beautiful. I'm not a fan of the servo-only (with failsafe column) steering but the engines finally seem to harken back to the best of what Nissan did in the 1990's. The Red Sport 400hp version with the twin water pumps sounds best given the weight of the coupe. I did not see any limited slip differential mentioned on the option list and of course there is no manual transmission offered-- both dings in my book.

I think it's gorgeous but given the option/choice I'd still go with a BMW 4-Series or Cadillac ATS instead.

That 400hp VR V6 though... I'd love to see that in a more hardcore variant or another sub-$100k Nissan/Infiniti entirely. The R35 GTR already has a VR38 of course.

The older G35/Skyline/G37/Q60 might not be in the same league as the new Q60 but I did like its simplicity and emphasis as a luxury driver's car.

The next Nissan Z is getting the TT VR V6 from what I'm reading. Would be nice if there's a manual option but haven't seen anything about that.

^^99% of Sport G50 shoppers don't care about how it behaves on the track. They want some power on the street and that's it. I have non car friends that are excited about this car and I know one will buy it for sure he has no interest in how it does on the track he will never take vehicle stability off. He represents exactly who Infiniti is appealing to.

^^^ his rant that it's sorta sporty, sorta luxury, etc. is hollow because pretty much all luxury brands suffer from that.

It will be great when the new Z comes out. The aftermarket support in the Z community is great. Lots of great companies.

I would disagree. Mercedes and Lexus for example definitely prioritise luxury over sportiness. For Infiniti to be known as "The Japanese BMW", it should prioritise sportiness which it doesn't with the steer-by-wire system it has currently.

Have you driven a modern Lexus? I think they challenge the idea that they "definitely prioritize luxury over sportiness", in fact...I would consider the IS and GS sportier than the Q50 and Q70.

As for the "Japanese BMW", have you driven a modern BMW? Way more luxury focused than they used to be.

The times they are a changin.

Nissan is always under dog in the market fighting uphill battle. So many their vehicles have CVT which I am not fond of. Any car with a CVT is deal breaker for me. And it'll
be interesting when they introduce VC-turbo engine equipped vehicle soon.
