Default Baby (2017 RX450h) in the ER

Had the car for two weeks as of today. Noticed the lift gate was off by 1 or 2 millimeters. Took it into the Lexus dealership. After an hour of waiting, the rep said it might be warped slightly or misaligned. Not major, but nothing something that could be fix there. So they took it to a local body shop today. And said they won't know the exact solution today.

This is fairly annoying considering I've barely had her. Is there something I can get out of this? Maybe someone with a similar experience got some sort of free full body detail or whatever. Kind of want to gain something from this inconvenience.

LOL, click bait? I wouldn't exactly call a misaligned liftgate as being "in the ER"

Hmm maybe it was more than 1 to 2 mm. I mean, they are sending it to the body shop to get it fixed. I assume if it was no big deal or simple, they wouldn't have wasted time and effort.
I'm going to butcher explaining this: Basically from the back, on the driver side, the liftgate went past the (NY State looking) piece of glass and on the passenger side, the sides glass stuck out.

Sorry, body shop = ER to me. Maybe the analogy is off.

1 or 2 millimetre is not noticeable without a ruler or calipers. 1mm = 4 one-hundredths (0.04) inch, in other words, it is absolutely tiny

Free body detail is probably the last thing you want to get from the dealership esp with dark colored cars. It will do you more harm than good. Good luck with your fix.

I might've underestimated it. It was noticeable enough for me to ask myself, "Why is this uneven?" and "I wonder if this will cause interior leaking or something."

I hope that's a fair enough assessment.

This would be a warranty issue. You should get a Lexus loaner.

Yeah they definitely gave a loaner. A 2017 RX350. And after inspecting the back, my definitely looked slightly misaligned or warped. I'm just bummed I have to part with my car for a few days already.

When I first got my LS460 I was without it for two weeks because of a navigation issue, and lot damage to the front bumper from before I bought it. Sucked, especially when you figure I'm paying $250 a week to have the thing, so that was a $500 loss. I tried to get something out of it and got nothing.

That $500 dollar lost is a good point. I didnt think about that. Given it's only been 3/4 days for me.
