What is it with Toyota DRLs?

And don't get me started about all the people in driving rain, fog and heavy snow with no lights on either....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you drive with the lights in the parking light position, we get the led's up front and the tail lights lit as well? Not to be used as the only lights in the dark, of course, but this does allow for lights front and back for those times when lighting out is between day and night....

If the DRLs are separate from the front amber indicator lights (some years ago, some cars used the front amber indicator lights as DRLs), they remain on when the parking lights or full headlights are on.
I was under the impression that it is not legal to drive with only parking lights on (at least here in Ontario, Canada) but cannot confirm this in a quick search.

As do I--and I'd say one in ten actually realize and turn on their lights after I've flashed at them. But what gets me is the astonishing number of people on dark roads with no lights on--and sadly, I feel like I get the same success rate when flashing lights at them.
