camry with more horsepower than the 2GS400 i had.
wonder why the hybrid is almost same power as regular 4 - i'm guessing much smaller 4 in hybrid for bigger fuel economy?

Watched the TFL video (I like their videos), and I like the shape of the car and the interior looks to be a huge improvement. The nose though...

Toyota/Lexus has a nose problem.

These are looking great! First Camry I've been excited about in many years!

That's a very good way to put it. I know both are looking for a brand identity in their front ends. I hope they find a good one soon.

Yep, I agree.

Lately, the current accord got my attention. Now, it's back to this new camry

For the past several weeks my dad has been driving a '17 Camry V6 XSE while his '15 Tacoma is awaiting a recall fix. Though he really wants his truck back, he's been having fun with the V6 in the Camry. And that Camry he is driving now is nothing compared to the new one.

My guess is that the regular-4 (a brand new engine, BTW) has been tuned for power to prevent calls for a turbo-4, and the the hybrid-4 (running the less powerful but more efficient Atkinson Cycle on the same engine as the regular-4) has been tuned more for economy. This new 4-cylinder is supposed to be very efficient so I don't see why the regular-4 and the hybrid-4 would use 2 different engines.

I wonder if the V6 is a brand new engine (like the new 2.5-litre 4-cylinder) or is still the 2GR?

I am guessing this is the same updated V6 which came with the 2017 Highlander (3.5-liter V6 with D-4S Fuel Injection) with slightly higher hp (301 vs 295)

Exterior is a bit wild, but I agree the interior is very nice. I'm sure the driving dynamics are greatly improved again for this quest of 'non boring cars'. Hoping it doesn't sacrifice ride quality or noise too much.

This is nice to see. So does this mean the 2018 NXh will have 208hp instead of the 194 total system horsepower? Also wonder if the 2018/2019 ES will debut this 301hp V6. 2017 still has 268hp.

With the next gen Accord dropping the V6, I'm pretty sure I would choose this new Camry over the next Accord, but in the versions offered today, I would most likely choose the Accord.
