Dealer training cars are making their rounds at dealers. My usual Benz salesman heard I was back in Atlanta for Thanksgiving so he called and I stopped by and drove it for a bit. Saw someone from MBUSA driving a pre-production E400 wagon too.

The msrp was $69,7xx, discounted to about 2000 below invoice to $62,3xx. with tax and fees, goes up to $68,xxx

ah that explains it, coz' i thought the car won't be available until early next year. so it's one heck of a car huh? i bet it's fast? definitely laying my eyes on it next

I was taken aback by the unique exhaust note AMG has carved out for the 43. It doesn't have the bass of the V8's obviously but it's very sporty. The engine/9-speed transmission combo is an absolute peach in any operating mode. My only criticism from the brief drive is that the steering wasn't Mercedes' best calibration effort.
