This video is a perfect example of why some insurance companies will not cover even purpose-built off-roaders when they are off-road. A young egotist, in an older Jeep Cherokee, who apparently thinks he's hot s*** (and on bald tires at that), tries to keep up with a Toyota Land Cruiser....and pays the price.

Yes, vehicles occasionally suffer at the hands of poor or immature drivers. I once had to chew out a good friend of mine (a co-worker) for clearly abusing a vehicle he was test-driving (not off-road). He knew he was wrong, and it didn't affect our friendship.

Jeeps, of course, are built to take at least some punishment off-road (those capable of it now wear the Trail-Rated Badge). This was an old Cherokee.....built before the days when Jeep had expanded into non-off-roaders like the Compass, and all Jeeps were capable of off-roading (they didn't need the Trail-Rated Badge then). But this guy, in the video, clearly tried to go over some barriers that were just too much. His Cherokee, good as it was, also did not have the suspension-travel of the much larger Land Cruiser.
