Million mile Toyota!!
In the news today!!
http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/...wMe?li=BBnbfcL
A 2007 Toyota Tundra with the 4.7 V8 has reached 1,020,130 original miles! Toyota bought the truck back to examine it. They threw a party for the owner!
Proof of how durable Toyotas are (and Lexus too)!

Wow. I've put 150,000 on my 2010 IS in 6 years of ownership and my interior still looks and smells brand new. I joke about driving her until she dies but figured I'd get maybe 200k before having to throw her away.
That would be awesome if I could get a lot more. Lol

Before I got my 06 IS350 I had an 02 Tundra V8 that I sold with 260K miles--it ran like new. When I posted the for sale ad my phone blew up with people calling to buy it!
My IS has 129K miles--I expect to get at least 200K and hopefully more!

toyota UZ, best engine there is i'm honored to have one under my hood with only 144,000 miles. still feels incredible, even the E63 doesn't have the response of this engine. or the smoothness, or quietness, or gas milage, or ease of maintenance... but it is a hell of a lot faster lol

I had the 4.7 V8 in my 4Runner and it was a fantastic engine. While I only had mine for 60k miles, it never experienced the slightest hiccup and I have no doubt that it was capable of many, many trouble free miles.

Man that is some great durability on that engine. I'm amazed the piston rings didn't start to wear after that many miles. I know that 4.7 V8 was used in the 98 to 2006ish Land Cruiser as well as the Tundra. The Land Cruiser is designed to have a 25 year service life driving on unpaved/crap roads, so I'm sure that engine was way overbuilt as well.

The 2007 to me was the perfect Tundra. The size was right, and it was a good looking truck. A buddy at work bought his new and still loves it. If I am not mistaken, isn't the 4.7 a Lexus v8?
