2004 is300 or 2004 acura rl
I'm in the market for a daily. I've found two cars that I like both priced at 2700. Here are the some of the specs

Timing belt and water done.
Salvaged due do hit in front driver fender

"My brother bought this car new, and I purchased it about 6 years ago with 235000 miles on it. It has been a pleasure to have! It is super comfortable for long trips, and has every option, premium sound also. As long as the recommended maintenance is performed with a few others, mostly front end axles, tires, and premium gas. The oil changes now are like $70 for high mileage synthetic. This car inside and out is top of the line! I call it "The Beast""

Do you have pictures, RL's are nice, I would take it over the IS300 but they are both salvage titles which scares me. I would either save up more money to not deal with a salvage title or get something that is not as nice in that price range without a salvage title. I hooked my ex gf mom up with a 03 or 04 RL I believe from a used car dealer for a older Accord trade in and she loved it, it was very nice when I drove it, had a nicer interior then my GS.

I don't want a civic way to small. I have 3 kids. And don't really ride with be,but when they do I want some room. I have the money to spend more. But I'd rather keep it low. Due to the fact I'm trying to buy a house. And I live in san jose California. Which is one of the most expensive places to live. I also know that the honda trans are pretty from 98 to 2004. My brother has a 2003 tl type s.... 2 trans. He bought his daughter a Accord 2 trans rebuilds then finally a full swap. I'm worried about that. I know is300 has head issues. So I'm kinda In a rut right now lol.
Salvaged don't really bother me it's only for a year or 2 maybe.
I don't drive much. I bought my ls430 with 109k and sold it with 122k after 2 years

The 2000-2003 and 2004 TL have a different engine and transmission. Those cars did have a reputation for transmission failure.
Some second generation Legends with the 3.2l C series V6 engine had head gasket issues, but I don't know if the 3.5 had the same issue.

The TL's had the tranny issue, early 2000 model accords too. I've heard it was something to do with a screen getting plugged up.
Find a clean first gen TSX with the 6spd manual. Rock solid car, decent power and fuel mileage. I sold mine at 200k. Maintenance and 1 clutch is all it ever needed. An is250 pulls a bit harder off the line, but the TSX pulls harder at freeway speeds, with the manual. Stay away from the 7th gen civics! No where near as good of a car as the 5th and 6th gen.

Well OP you're presenting some doubtful choices, but based on what little info you're presenting - I'd take the RL any day. It's a much better vehicle. But why the disparity in choices here? You are basically a polar opposites choice here. The IS was a Bimmer contestant, while the RL was a higher end cushier option for people not worried about outright performance.
