Default 2016 Honda Accord selling like mad

This is a great example of what a successful facelift can do. I can't believe how many new Accords I am seeing on my way to and from work lately. In my ten minute drive, I see at least 3 or 4 brand new ones. Most are the newly minted Sport model, which includes trendy black rims, dual exhaust, and a fancy rear diffuser. I am sure buyers are also smitten by the standard LED DRL's. I really have to hand it to Honda for knowing the market, knowing today's trends, and creating some new ones too. I have no idea if this car is winning elsewhere, but right now, there are a ton of these moving off lots in L.A. as I type this. Hats off.

Here on the East coast there are not many of them on the other hand the new RAV4 is spreading like roaches!

Camry is still king tons of them everywhere.

Outsold by the Camry fleet queen Altima still. Sales haven't really jumped tremendously from what the sales charts are saying.

The car I'm seeing lots of here is the new Civic. On the road it is striking looking particularly from the side and rear.

I see a lot of the new Civic (my cousin just got one. It's sharp), the refreshed Accord and the refreshed Infiniti QX60.

Accord sales showed a good lift for February/March/April, but have since come back down to closer to last year's sales pace. Good update no doubt, but the Civic is definitely the gem in the Honda car lineup right now, bucking all trends for Compact car sales trends this year.

For what ever reason when I took a first glance of the 2016 accord, I though of the Subaru Legacy. Haha

what i like about the accord is that it looks luxury from various angles, especially the back.

camry just looks cheap and hacked together, especially that funny c pillar black glossy plastic thing.

mazda6 is still my favorite in this class.

Also seeing a ton of the new Civic. Probably the hottest selling car in my valley right now. I did not warm up to the looks at all though. It looks, bent, hacked, and frumpy front and back. Taillights are also tacky and childish.

It's nice that the new Accord continues the tradition of success. But the truth is that it has been selling in huge numbers since it was introduced here in 1976....and would have sold a lot more during the 1980s than it actually did (and at lower prices) had the government import-restrictions had not been in place then. It was flooding the market even before arch-rival Toyota Camry debuted in 1983.

I don't get that at all. I think it's a great looking little car. Best looking in the segment by far.

For me, I do double takes that the new Accord is not a 13-16 Ls460 from the rear and sides. Not really the front end at all. But overall, Honda has done a nice job.

Traditionally, Accords sold overseas (and even where you are in Canada) have been done on smaller, more compact platforms than U.S.-spec mid-size Accords. The smaller Accords, though, were sold here (in a somewhat upmarket version) as the Acura TSX...until the TSX was discontinued.
