Jay Leno's show on CNBC is now more like Top Gear, it is pretty good and entertaining to watch. I don't see that as being staged, while the car is designed to protect occupants in a rollover there was nothing protecting Leno's arm if it went outside the open window while it was rolling which would have crushed it or could tear it off, insurance/producers would never let a high profile celebrity risk that and do that.

That was downright frightening. Safety equipment did exactly what it was designed to do but as mentioned needed something to keep limbs from flailing around and getting crushed.

Love Jay Leno's show BTW so many interesting cars, trucks, and pretty much anything that has wheels and an engine.

I saw another video of the crash when Leno visited Fallon on the Tonight Show - the car only flips over once. The way the youtube clip is put together it looks like he flipped over multiple times.

From this video, its clear it rolls over at least twice. Switching between camera angles does make it seem like they flip over many more times.

He seemed genuinely disappointed that he rolled over. I would think there would be more emergency services though...

it was definitely his fault, if he left the car stock it wouldn't have rolled over

watch it again, the car hits a bump and the back wheels come off the ground for a moment. being a chrysler it naturally didn't take too well to this and it started to skid.

Why on earth would he do that???? He looks pretty cool and collected on camera, probably just glad Jay wasn't hurt. Although you know that has to hurt, he's been driving that car for 50 years, its like one of his children.

I will give some credit to the guys who built the car as well. Roll cage, harnesses, seats, fuel cell, all did their job, nobody hurt, not even a scratch.

This debuted about a week ago. Not sure why it's finally making the local news now.
What I find interesting is how Jay's arms and hands somehow stayed in front of him while he was flipping. Usually the force of a roll forces limbs to the outer bounds of everything. Quite impressive how that happened, however it did.

I think Jay himself being around cars and racing for as long as he has knew to try and keep his arms in to avoid injury
