I don't know why I have such a soft spot for that generation Camry, it is a boring commuter car. It was just such a well built and nice car, its even more staggering when you consider what else was on the road back in 1992-93 when it came out. In some ways it was better built than all the Camrys that have come since.

I'd also rate my 1992 SC300 I have now as one of the most reliable cars I've ever had. Bought it with 60k miles in 2012, it now has 94k miles. Fully documented service history with every single last reciept. So far I've had to shell out for an a/c recharge, new tires, and clutch hydrolics. Other than the tires that has been about $500 for those two repairs. The only downside is that there is some rust starting to form along the leading edge of the roof near the windshield. I blame this on a botched replacement windshield install about 10 years ago, whoever took out the old one ground out the paint inside the windshield, used the wrong sealent, wrong moulding, something that allowed water/moisture to get behind the paint.

I'd still rate that 1991 Cadillac Brougham as the most reliable though, because I kind of bought it on a whim, no documented service history, my expectations were kind of low. If it cost a ton of money, needed a new transmission, so be it, it was in great cosmetic shape and I bought it for cheap.

oooo man this is going to be a hard one...guess i'll list them off in no real order

1)'00 Acura Integra GSR 68k yes, 68k. No problems ever, granted in the 7 years ive owned it its only been driven a grand total of 5,000 miles you might say garage queen)
2)'98 Lexus GS400 205k and shes still cranking healthy and strong I did have a cat go on me at 190k. Other than routine maintenance, thats it.
3)'87 Toyota 4 runner 240k miles... this thing is indestructible...
4)'01 Subaru 2.5RS 178k miles nothing but regular maintenance has kept her going strong even today

annnnnnd lastly my fathers friend drives an '06 Honda civic Si which he bought in '09 with 15k miles on it and now has 300k+ miles on the original engine and trans, nothing but regular maintenance has kept that little thing going strong. (his last civic was a '94 which he put 500k+ miles on the original motor and trans ... if that doesnt say reliable I dont know what does)

My favorite generation of Camry as well. My folks had a '95. It was smooth and quiet, with high quality interior materials.

1995 Jaguar Vanden Plas. Sold it at 165K in 2002... Ran absolutely like new, spent a grand total of $1,100 I think in Nonwarranty repairs (I don't count tires and brakes and fluids/filters).

My first car... 1994 Toyota Camry V6 LE... Most reliable car I have owned to date... My parents bought it brand new back in 1994 and then I bought it from them in 2003 and then sold it to a close friend back in 2008... He still drives it daily and the only maintenance he had to do was a new radiator (around 200k mark I believe)...

ive has 59 cars so when I say one ive had is reliable you can believe it.

most reliable car ive ever had is also my second oldest DD ive had in my life. my 1995 Ls400. aside from the leaky trunk and chronic PS problems, its been rock solid. ive had the car 3/1/2 years and its always started first crank, never left me stranded or has broke down on me. it has NEVER let me down. my first Ls400 was really good to me too. my 1990 but it was only about 15 years old when I had it. not 20+ so idk how reliable itd be at nearly 30 years old.

my 95 has 199k miles on it and I drive it to death. I have a brand new mustang convertible but it mostly sits in the driveway. I like driving my Ls400 better. lol

i don't usually keep my car longer than 3 years ( i know, wasted a ton of money in my youth), but the current 2009 IS350 i'm driving now is the most reliable i've ever driven. just oil changes and regular services, i have not taken it in for anything besides those two and it's almost 100k miles.

1996 Camry 2.2 4 cylinder automatic. Easily a car I would have today and still use. It got wiped out by a redneck driver in a... wait for it - mid 2000's Tundra on a winter night. That car saved my life. It was so smooth you would not have known it was a 4 cylinder.

At the time it had 334,000 kilometers and was running like a top. What astonishes me even to this day is how quiet and smooth it was. Even my 2GS isn't that quiet on the road as far as tire noise and road rumble is concerned.

Also a 1982 Honda Accord four door auto - this is where Honda earned its reputation. And a 1988 Mazda 626 manual. Pretty much a smooth runner once that stroked 2.2 warmed up. It never gave up.

None of these cars ever stranded me on distant highways, unlike the big three domestics which gave me headaches left, right and center.

The 1st car I bought new for my wife, 1986 Honda Prelude Si 4-speed manual trans, 1st black car ever made by Honda. Warranty expired without ever needing it. Sold it in 1995 with 137,k miles, only replaced cv boots, sparkplugs & timing belt @ 90,K miles as recommended in owners manual.

Bought a 2007 IS350 new for my wife, just sold it last December after buying a 2015 GS-F sport.
IS never needed any unscheduled maintanence other than the 3 or 4 engine part recalls. Had 96k miles when I sold it.

2002 civic lx manual. Bought new for my wife for under 13k but we both used it. Only ever did tires and a set of brakes. Car still drove perfect after 10 years and 125k miles. Put the car on Craigslist and sold it in about 40 seconds. My is-f has been perfect for 3 years and my wife's 12' Subaru Impreza has been perfect for 4 years.
