same here. i've been in my jeep/chrysler/dodge dealer about 90 mins total in the 18 months i've had my jgc and that's only for 3 free maintenance (oil changes) and tire rotation.

although some are great and no disrespect, but i expect nothing from car salespeople regardless of brand. have experienced some real 'winners' at lexus too.

the jeep guy i dealt with was friendly, knowledgeable, but the numbers changed positions quicker than a ball bearing on a ship in a force 10 gale.

True, I have met many terrible Lexus salespeople too. I'll never forget the time a Lexus sales manager almost blew up a deal with me. We were $4 a month apart in our calculations and I made a joke "well, $4 I dunno" it had been a pretty friendly negotiation, not heated at all, we came to a price quickly and he inflated the MF, which they always do, and I called them on it and we had worked through that. When the difference is that small it's some very minor inconsequential mathematic thing, it's not an issue. He freaked out! Ranting and raving LOL. No clue where that came from, everything was light and friendly otherwise I wouldn't have made the joke!

In general though, the difference in dealership experience is significant though. Jeep is every similar to Toyota, Ford, etc. My business partner just got a JGC High Altitude (between Overland and Summit) to replace his GS350, and they delivered it to him with all the chalk writing still on the windows and trim, no tire shine on the tires. One stainless steel pedal and one regular plastic pedal (the stainless pedals are an option be got half the option). That sort of thing doesn't happen with Lexus or other luxury brands.

While new car shopping recently I took a couple of test drives in the XT5, and agree that it's a nice CUV. I agree that sometimes the V6 felt a bit sluggish but overall OK for the vehicle. Both sales reps that I dealt with were pretty knowledgeable about the XT5 (they'd been to training and orientation). No surprise that it is selling very well for Caddy.

As it turned out we bought an A6 to replace our Q5 and used the same dealership mainly due to selection, pricing and convenient location.

So far so good. The size is right for us as well as the ride/handling combination. The interior is very nice and it will be good for road trips and vacations. I'm sure there will be times that we'll miss the CUV but overall weren't using it much to haul stuff. The car has just 500 miles so we're still in the honeymoon phase.

I really like the A6. Did you lease? If so how were the lease rates? I would have gotten an A6 in 2012 instead of the GS had the lease rates been better. I'm in an LS for what an A6 would have cost me to lease.

We purchased. I understand that for some reason, Audi's don't lease well. We bought the Q5 too.

Yeah all the scenarios I ran the lease payments were basically no different than the finance payments.

Enjoy! Post some pics!

Not long ago, the A6, especially with the rapidly-improving Audi reliability, was one of Consumer Reports' top-rated luxury sedans, though, of course, that doesn't incude mega-luxury sedans.

Yeah, I couldn't seem to get them resized and didn't want to post the huge pictures. Thanks....
