Hahaha. Back when I was a Boy Scout, we did several 2 day weekend hikes, where you hiked and then overnight camped, then hiked some more. You learned quick after doing it once what not to bring lol.
Getting back on topic, I don't keep crap in my cars. Truck has some rope, bungee cords, jumper cables, tire gauge, pen and paper, a CD or 2, sunglasses and that's it. Car is about the same, factory tool kit, jumper cables, car duster, windshield sun shade, a few CD's, sunglasses, tire gauge, pen and paper, microfiber towels and a bottle of quick detail in case a bird *****s on it.

Interestingly, here in Maryland, any fixed blade, or even a razor, is considered a dangerous weapon and you are not allowed to carry one. However, a folding and locking blade of any length is perfectly legal to carry. Makes perfect sense.

Honestly, up here in canada carrying a blade in your pocket is considered concealed and therefore illegal but if it is in plain sight it is legal somehow as long as it is less than 3 inches. These laws honestly baffle me

Tire gauge, tool kit, and first aid kid all in the spare tire compartment.
Pack of gum in the armrest
Insurance papers and the like in glovebox.
Otherwise interior is spotless.

Currently in my lexus; just a charging cable for my cell phone and the first aid pack that is velcro'd in the back of my trunk. My other car has my tool box with wrenches, sockets and screw drivers. I also keep a box of detailing supplies with micro fiber towels and armor all wipes.

Up front, a tire guage, sunglasses, coins, gas credit cards and cloth to wipe down the shiny areas.
In the trunk, under my cargo net, a ton of bags from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. On the side, a first aid kit. When it is full, luggage.

In the front? Not much, I like to keep my interiors spotless. Jacket/gloves for a cold day under a seat, pocket knife in the middle compartment, phone charger, umbrella, raincoat (one of those cheap ones that fit in a quart sized baggy) and car papers in the glovebox.
In the trunk? Milk crate full of detailing stuff, 150 piece tool set, two first aid kits (Lexus and a Johnson and Johnson kit), jumper cables and a tire gauge. That milk crate and toolset take up way too much space in my IS, probably should move them into the RX...
