Default MMarshall injury/Delayed reviews

Folks.....I know (per member-requests) that I promised you upcoming MM-reviews on the 2017 Cadillac CT6, XT5, and Lincoln Continental. I injured my right knee on the way back from the swimming pool yesterday, from slipping on some steps. It's a significant injury (I don't know how bad yet).... but it doesn't appear to be broken (maybe cartilage or ligaments?) My brother is taking me to the hospital today in his Sportage....I don't have enough knee-motion right now to try and drive myself, even with an automatic (I can barely get in/out of bed and up and down the steps). We'll see how bad it is at the hospital, and how long I'll be out of commission. But as soon as I recover.....(you guessed it).......back to the reviews.

(I'll also be on and off the Car Chat forum, here and there, while I'm recuperating, to see what's going on, but not as much as before the injury, of course)

Take care, Folks,

MM

Take care MM. Give the knee some good rest, and TLC.

Thanks, Folks. It was diagnosed as a torn quad-tendon, which will need surgery and recuperation, so I'll be out of review-commission (and maybe driving commission) for a number of weeks.

Actually, at one time (a number of years ago) I DID have an injury from a hood...but not that type of injury. I was reviewing a new Honda Fit or Civic (don't clearly remember which), and, while trying to un-click the secondary latch, one of my fingers rubbed against a VERY sharp piece of metal, like a knife-edge, under the hood near the latch. It gave my finger a small but nasty cut, which they bandaged up inside with a butterfly-bandage....it turned out to not be serious, and healed in a few days (and I was able to finish the review).

Stuff like that on brand-new Honda products is rare, as Honda is noted for excellent design and quality-control. Might have been a disgruntled employee trying to sabotage one or more cars on the assembly line. I also noticed a very sharp piece on my old Subaru Outback near the oil-filter.

Mike, where will you be? Fairfax Inova or will it be outpatient surgery? If inpatient, happy to come visit while you are recuperating.

Good luck, Mike. Get well soon and let's hope that you regain full movement back in the knee.
