The grille is mostly finished in metal and looks good to me. What looks cheap in person is the grille of the new Lexus RX.

No I missed that. That's unfortunate, as superchargers are AWESOME!!! Instant torque and that sound/whine when you romp on it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

Overall though, like most Audis, the vehicle as a whole leaves me a bit cold. The 4-series and new C coupe have more emotional designs, the Bimmer is of course better to drive. Every Audi I've driven has been a bit boring to drive. Not to say they're mushy like say a Lexus ES, because they are reasonably competent. But there's no way you'd call it a "driver's car."
I can certainly respect that Audi isn't a brand that floats your boat, but to say the S5 isn't a "driver's car"? Have you actually driven one? Don't take my word for it.

Yeah the new engine is up 21 hp and 44 lb-ft, but I agree Superchargers are (more) awesome!

But a turbocharged engine is more efficient than a supercharged one, since a supercharger is always on and is (literally) a drag on the engine.

No argument there, but I'd personally trade some efficiency for some supercharged goodness

Default Even A Wife On A Rampage Can't Resist The New 2017 Audi S5 Sportback

Audi has searched deep into the web for a unique idea to promote their new S5 Sportback, and with the violent videos that pop up on a daily basis, the brand with the four rings has given this promo a go.

Its theme is an angry (cheated, perhaps?) wife, and the footage starts with the woman destroying everything she encounters in the couple's posh property.

In between tears, she spots the keys to the new Audi A5 Sportback on the table and, picking up a golf club from the set, heads for the garage.

On viewing the Audi, though, she has a change of heart, her anger subsides and she takes the 348 HP four-door coupe out for a spin instead.

Hell hath no fury like an enraged woman, perhaps, but even she can't resist the S5 Sportback. Or at least that's what Audi wants us to believe anyway.

Googled the A5 sportback, man it looks like a sexy machine. A smaller A7, but at a much more affordable price.

It existed for other markets in the prior/outgoing A5. So glad that it's coming to the U.S. with the new generation!

Default All-New Audi A5 & S5 Range Set For UK Debut, Priced From £30,700

Audi's new-generation A5 is now available to order less than a month after its European debut at the 2016 Paris Auto Show.

The new A5 will touch down on UK soil in early 2017 as prices will start from £30,700 for the Coupe in SE 2.0 TFSI form and £38,005 for the Sportback 2.0 TDI quattro Sport (entry-level SE pricing to be announced at a later date).

Like the rest of Audi's UK range, the A5 Coupe and Sportback hierarchy consists of SE, Sport and S line specification levels. The entry-level SE comes with 17" alloys, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, Audi Drive Select, three-zone climate control, Apple Carplay & Android Auto as well as front and rear Audi Parking System Plus.

New to the A5 range is the Audi connect Safety and Service package which is standard and features an embedded SIM card allowing occupants to dial an emergency or assistance call service through a one-touch button function.

Moving up in the range is the Sport trim which builds on the SE by adding an LED interior lighting pack, electrically adjustable sports seats with 4-way lumbar support, SD-card-based MMI navigation and a three-month free trial of Audi connect. In addition to their visual enhancements, S line models also come with 18" alloys, sport suspension, LED front & rear lights with dynamic rear indicators and front sports seats upholstered in leather/Alcantara.

Naturally, the S5 quattro models feature the best specs, both outside and in - boasting their customary quad oval tailpipes and aluminum-effect door mirror housings, S5 logos on the grille, front wings and rear, partly polished 19" alloys, specially tuned brakes, sport suspension and exclusive Misano red and Navarra blue paintwork. Inside, there's Fine Nappa leather on the front S super sports seats, MMI navigation plus and a three-year subscription to the Audi connect suite.

Among the range's top optional extras, there's the Audi virtual cockpit, Matrix LED lights, head-up display, Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system and the adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function.

Buyers will get a choice of three TDI and two TFSI power units for the A5 Coupe and Sportback models. Both the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI and TDI engines produce 190 PS and can be ordered with either a six-speed manual or 7-speed S tronic gearbox. The 252 PS 2.0 TFSI unit is mated exclusively to quattro all-wheel drive, helping the A5 hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.8 seconds (6.0 for the Sportback). Furthermore, the 218 PS V6 TDI is offered with quattro AWD and the S tronic transmission in the Coupe, whereas the Sportback will get it with 272 PS and an eight-speed tiptronic exclusively.

Of course, the flagship 354 PS S5 Coupe and Sportback models offer the best overall performance, reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds.

Pricing for the 3.0 TDI quattro and 2.0 TDI ultra Sportback models will be announced closer to market introduction early next year.
