It is what it is, for people who has drum brakes and wants to look good. This has it's following, specially the people who wants their cars look like Pepboy catalog.
Yes, I hate to see this type of cars on the road.

hidden brake systems (aka inboard brake system) on hot rods have been around for years. I have one on my '32 Ford Roadster similar to this

This had nothing to do with looks. Jaguar came out with this. This is about reducing unsprung weight to improve handling.

I know that.. that wasn't my point.
I use it for looks on my hot rod, allows for deep offset wheel in the back. tubbed and tucked look.
