Lexus and Maserati car service? Why not!
A new place opened right next to where I live. Prices are very competitive and actually cheaper compared to other car services around here. Which I think was a smart move. I mean, would you call a place and have them send you a 1998 Lincoln Town Car or you'd rather ride in a Lexus LS ?
My only issue with this, is how will this affect the image of the brand? Now that their cars are used as taxis ? Thoughts?
and of course,

Why didn't they order a fleet of black cars and class it up a bit??? That looks tacky IMO.
And around here, the big thing in the limo/black car business is the big black Escalade/Suburban/Denali/Expidition/Navigator. There are still a few sedans and Town Cars used by the limo companies, but they're almost all now SUV's, because you can seat more people.

We also have those big limo SUV's, but getting around NYC in those dinosaurs is problematic.

It was nice to be driven back home from the airport last summer in a familiar ES rather than one of the falling-apart Town Cars.
While Germany and Switzerland used (haven't been there in a while) an almost-exclusive fleet of MB E-Class as taxis, they would not be recognized as luxury cars, not with their gaudy cream colour, thick vinyl seat coverings, spartan interiors and small diesel engines. They were also starting to use a large number of Toyota Avensis models in their taxi fleets when I was last there.

E and S-classes are commonly used as taxis and airport limos in Europe. They're almost all diesels too. That's not necessarily a bad thing because those cars last for ages. I haven't seen any Lexus cars being used as taxis apart from hotel limos, but an ES hybrid would be a good choice because of the huge rear seat space and good fuel economy.
