damn that's embarrassing, what an idiot. luckily no one was hurt, but that's why you don't try to show off too much. Mustang part starts at 11 seconds btw

Default Have Stupidity, Will Travel.

I've said, many times, in public (and it's a matter of record) that, as a group (not all individual members), V8 Mustang jocks, especially younger ones, were the most irresponsible group of drivers I've seen throughout the years, with BMW 3-series in a somewhat distant second place. Something about having some power and that pony on the grille just invites stupidity. Over a number of decades, I've seen more young people hurt or killed in Mustangs (usually from drag-racing or trying to show off) than in any other single vehicle....even competing Camaros. I've also (more than once) seen Mustang jocks do silly things on the road that almost took out my own car.

(And, of course, my comments are NOT directed at those of you who DO own high-powered Mustangs and drive them responsibly)

I laughed so hard at this when i saw it on another forum, but now I just feel bad for the driver of the car he hit. What a day-ruiner.

Anyways, for the Mustang driver: It's hard to fight instinct, but NEVER LIFT!

New Sonata

Never a good idea to screw around when other cars are present especially if you can't handle the car in the first place.

What exactly is the issue with Mustangs that causes this, design flaw? Never seen any other car react like that when trying to correct. Can't be all driver mod or maybe lol.

This is very common occurrence with inexperienced drivers who do not know how to control a slide on a RWD car.

It's a form of "lift-off oversteer." If you rewatch the video, he started spinning the tires while the car was turning out of the exit. While the tires were spinning he was able to get the car momentarily straight in his lane. But since the rear tires where still spinning, he wasn't truly pointed straight; the tires still wanted to go in the original direction out of the exit (to the left).

When the driver noticed he was heading towards the curb, he let off the accelerator, the tires gained traction and the rear shot to the right. He tried to counter-steer and eventually lost control. Very common way to wreck a car when hooning without experience. The only way you can regain traction is to lay back on the accelerator and gently dial it back. Hence the message in my previous post: NEVER LIFT!

Traction and stability control is mandatory for some people. Or maybe they shouldn't drive at all.

My friend was planning on going to this c&c meet this past saturday but ended up not going because of the crappy weather. Actually snowed on and off the entire day and temperature was in the 30-40 degree range.

Cold weather + mustang trying to show off with summer tires is a recipe for dissaster.
