not a single creak, squeak, nothing, no issues. great.
That shows the vast improvements in design and quality control made in Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep plants in the last several years....since the buyout and reorganization. Although, in some cases, reliability issues still remain, gone are the days when your typical Chrysler or Jeep product was a classic Creak-O-Matic with parts loosening up. I've seen Chrysler products (even owned some) that were assaulting your eardrums with rattles after only couple of thousand miles...and, along with the poorly-built Cadillac Catera and Saturn L-series (they used the same platform) even when brand-new.

It is false. The Catera was RWD, a rebadged Opel Omega, the Saturn L Series was a FWD transverse rebadged Opel Vectra. Totally different cars.

If you're fine with a "non-luxury" RX, then test the Highlander in XLE or Limited grade. It is even larger and can seat 8. Personally, when I drove the RDX and RX back to back recently, I felt the RDX was just a high end CRX with a V6 in it, as the materials weren't that high grade, while the RX was a defacto luxury SUV.

Talking to family, and those who own a GX470 recommended the quality of the platform .

So its now down to the GX vs RX vs RDX

GX is considerably larger than your other two choices, but a great vehicle.

We have a close friend who traded in her 3RX for a new GX about a year ago and can't stop praising the thing.

GX is not larger, the driver seat and leg room are shorter than RX. I think it's because GX has to squeeze some space for third row.
GX material and build quality are superior than RX.

The GX is not larger inside, but it is significantly bigger and beefier outside. Driving down the road you'll find it feels bigger.

Inside, the GX has better build quality and materials than the 3RX, but I disagree about the 4RX. I think the 4RX is actually nicer inside than the GX.

I was actually referring to exterior dimensions, not legroom, however I find myself corrected by a quick Google search.

GX: 192" L x 74" W x 74" H
RX: 193" L x 75" W x 68" H

It feels bigger though like I said, mostly because of the height difference.

the gx height may also come from being body on frame and with high clearance for off road use vs the rx.

the new rx is not far off highlander size i think, except with 2 roomy rows and nice big cargo space. i really like the 4rx INSIDE.

Although I am not a big fan of the GX, I would take a GX over an RX is every given situation except as a daily driver where the RX will be easier to live with. But I would never drive anything but a car as a daily driver, especially on fuel consumption. There is something about a true body on frame SUV that I like so much more than the car based cross-overs that have never done it for me. You also get the GX without remote touch which is likely coming.
