The other thing nobody has mentioned is the new Camaro SS makes the Cadillac ATS-V a moot point. Same excellent chassis, much better engine in the Camaro. Really wish they had stuck the LT1 V8 in the ATS-V instead of an asthmatic sounding and laggy twin turbo V6.

Numbers are very close between the two. However, I'm waiting for Chevy to release the price the 1LE package Camaro SS and the performance numbers. Since Ford stealerships are having a huge mark ups on the GT350s, I'm gonna wait out on the Camaro SS 1LE or M2.

Camaro is a winner because of the ATS-V

Besides, the ATS-V is also available as a sedan whereas the Camaro is a two door affair only. At least Cadillac is offering a competitor to the M3/4. Sure Lexus has the RC F, but is missing IS F (hopefully on hiatus)

back to the m4/camaro comparison...

bmw just upped their game. m4 gts...

M4 GTS uses a multi-award-winning six-cylinder turbo engine, boosted with a water injection system that raises the engine’s output to 368 kW/500 hp, while maintaining the same levels of CO2 emissions as the BMW M4 coupe, and the same fuel consumption (2.2 gallons per 62 miles), said the german automaker in a press release.
“This makes the BMW M4 GTS the most agile, radical and dynamically potent model in the range. It races from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a mere 3.8 seconds and hits a limited top speed of 305 km/h (189.5 mph),” said BMW in a press release.

the biggest loser in all this is the ATS-V. When you put the SS and ATS-V side by side, the ATS-V is not worth 20k over. Its a shared chassis, the ATS-V gauges are horrific looking that belong in an econobox

Agreed... But to be fair it's a much better car than the good ole boy versions.

I'll still choose the Jaguar, Audi, BMW, etc over the Chevy all day (panache and resale).

Most importantly it's least likely to see some 22" rims, garish paint & smell black & molds smoke coming from a newer model of the others!
