your LS looks GREAT.

It really does, those LS430 18s really look great on the car.
Two things I forgot that I miss from the LS400:
1. The little center sun visor
2. The crotch AC vent! Cooled seats help with this somewhat, but that crotch AC vent was great on a hot day. None of my other Lexus cars have had one, the new LS's have a knee airbag which deletes that vent.

'89 Camry. My parents got it when I was a kid, I grow up riding in so many generations of Camry since.
Though what really got me hooked with Toyota/Lexus was Land Cruiser '92. It just went everywhere like an unstoppable force.

the central 3rd visor and the ***** vent are two great little features on the car, and in that LS fashion they're both non-intrusive and provide only benefits with basically no drawbacks. i've literally been happy to have them each multiple times, and i'm still not sure if i've seen that 3rd central visor on anything else. i'm sure some rolls royce somewhere has one, but the LS is better than a rolls

Mercedes cars always used to have that third visor, my dad's 1990 Lincoln Continental had one too.

1984 Camry - We were "early adopters" of the very first Camry. What a car it was; it truly felt like a luxury car compared to cars my father had owned up to that time.
1987 Corolla - My first car gave me independence by giving my bulletproof mobility. It never left me stranded, even during cold winter mornings.
1995 Camry - This was my second car. What else can I say about the Gen3 Camry that has not already been said?

my dad bought a (then) new 1991 camry and eventually replaced that with an also (then) new 2004 camry SE V6, which we still have. it's what i took the road test in, it does hilariously entertaining prolonged FWD burnouts all day, and it's got an actual HANDbrake! pretty fun car with decent handling, including loads of torque steer. and it's been pretty damn reliable as well.
i was only 6 at the time so i don't really remember my grandparents getting the LS back in 1999. i would periodically ride in the back of it throughout my childhood but (obviously) never actually got to drive it. all the while my grandpa listening to his philharmonics with the volume turned up to a loud whisper. my grandparents also drove like grandparents so as far as my adolescent self could tell it just felt like a slightly better version of their "always in the shop" early 90s lincoln continental that never had any issues.
it wasn't until i started stretching the legs a bit and blasted some stone temple pilots and alice in chains that i began to realize i was in possession of something pretty special here, it was certainly not your average toyota. the longer i've driven it the more it just seems to make you conscious of how almost every other car just doesn't compare. sure certain cars might do individual things better, but nothing combines the performance, value for money, reliability, comfort, electronic features, sleek design, low NVH levels, longevity, durability, serviceability, usability, and relatively low running costs quite like the LS 400.

1980 Toyota Corona, the predecessor to the Camry. My dad got it when I was a teenager. Until then he was a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth man. I learned to drive with his 1971 Fury, thing was a land yacht. Once he experienced the reliability of that Toyota he never bought another Chrysler product. He also had a 69 Charger, super cool to look at but a horribly unreliable car.

My current fleet consists of a 1993 Toyota truck I bought from a friend for $600. Its a real beast, been smashed in the front, non-functioning a/c, flat black paint, but man it runs great. I've done quite a bit of work to it(new clutch, radiator, clutch hydraulics, front brake calipers, muffler) but then again it was always maintained, so I trust it despite it being an ugly and hot pig in the summer.
The 1992 Lexus SC300, 5 speed manual, well that is the nicest car I've ever owned. Bought it 4 years ago with 60k on it from the extremely **** original owner, who always garaged it, never drove it in winter, always dealer serviced with a stack of receipts. I still think its a bit heavy and more of a GT car despite the manual, but I love it anyways. Mainly the styling is what drew me to this car, its just drop dead gourgeous and timeless IMO, both inside and out. Love the interior as well, the non-shiny woodgrain, the super clean light colored leather, the gauges, it makes me feel like a million bucks despite being 23 years old.
Also a huge fan of the 98-00 LS400, 2nd gen GS, 4th gen GS, 2nd and 3rd gen LX, 1st and 2nd gen GX.
I'm thinking my next Toyota purchase is going to be a really nice black Marty McFly 4wd Toyota truck, or a really nice 1st gen MR2. Finding a nice one is going to be a needle in a haystack search, but that's part of the fun IMO.

My Lexus interest started when my dad brought home a brand new 1990 LS400. It was gray/gray and I didn't know what it was at the time. I was 4. Rode in that car for 9 years until he traded it in so my brother could have a car, at 1994 SC300, which was ultimately handed down to me!
Wish I had pics of the 90 LS, it was the first of its kind!

I saw a 1999 GS400 parked in front of my house. That led to me getting a 1998 SC300, the rest is history.
