True, both were entertaining, but Top Gear UK just had a charm about it

Gotta adapt now though, just like Honda couldn't hold on to that 5-speed forever

Leblanc's still a working actor but being a Friends alumnus doesn't really give you much street cred.

This might be a case of a quick-change reaction that's been seen before as in Two and A Half Men.

Charlie Sheen>>> meltdown>>>Ashton Kutcher sails into a show that's lost its direction.

Jeremy Clarkson>>>meltdown>>>Chris Evans, Chris Harris. But upchuck headlines upset the marketing and the supporting players are watching from the sidelines.

So next move just like in Hollywood. Evans>>>to the Jon Cryer role>>>Leblanc trying to rescue what's left of the Clarkson "big face" role.

I dont find Leblanc to be very charismatic. When he did his interview as a guest, the conversation didn't really flow naturally.

There's room for two shows. I think the ratings for TG UK, while being less than before, will be just fine.

By the way, Matt LeBlanc is their second choice after a British female model.

Friends was as popular in the UK as it was in the US so LeBlanc is well known and well liked. I think it's a pretty good idea to sign him up.

I find Matt LeBlanc to be incredibly boring and monotone. I think this is a huge mistake.

All that's out there now is "fall/autumn."

I will still prefer to watch Clarkson et all though.

There's something about the dry british humor combined with Clarkson's outrageous personality that makes the whole thing work. Clarkson is going to make amazon great again.
Yes, Clarkson had that sarcastic, acrid wit that made him entertaining. That will be missed.

the only way I see Matt's full potential coming out is if he presents the show as Joey lol

carbon fiber monocoque, good... 6 speed manual, good... 550 hp V8, GOOD.......

LeBlanc is into cars and some racing but he is too nice of a guy for that format plus it is a British show, I think they should use British/European hosts. It may be interesting to see an American actor on a very British show though.

I remember seeing LeBlanc as Kelly Bundy's boyfriend on "Married With Children" in the early 90's, funny role but not someone you would think would hit it huge in a top sitcom and now gets to be a host of a top British car show but I also remember seeing Ben Stiller in "Next of Kin" in the early 90's and would never think he would be the biggest comedy star a decade or two later from that role.

Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Tim Allen, or even Letterman before he got so grouchy would have been perfect Top Gear hosts if they wanted to go with a American who is into cars. Adam Corrola would have been good too but his Speed Channel car show was not that good and did not last.
