Actually it was the RX and the Murano that imitated the LF-LC's floating roof.

Toyota has been doing floating roof way before LF-LC. Go to Thailand, you will see the older Toyotas with floating roof design.

I don't remember either, but Thai Yaris has floating roof, and it has been on sale like forever.

Default 4,000 deliveries to the U.S.

Apparently Lexus is only planning on making 6,600 models of the 2018 LC 500, with only some 4,000 of those making their way Stateside...

Sounds like a good way to make their dealer network happy with $20,000 markups. For reference BMW moves about 8 to 9,000 6 series a year.

Lexus dealers really penalize dealers for adding markups.

Does anyone remember when the SC430 was first introduced? The waiting list was long and the cars were in short supply. If someone drove one for a while and turned it in, Lexus dealers used to charge more for a used one than a new one because there was no wait. I could see that happening again. The only difference might be that dealers weren't allowing test drives in the SC430, so customers were buying them thinking they were sports cars, only to be disappointed because they were anything but.

I never drove the initial SC430 but 2004 and 2006 I drove were quite confident riders with minimal bodyroll.

For Lexus to be able to play in the 6 figure arena is already an achievement in itself. If they can indeed sell out the 4400 cars or so, it will be an even greater achievement. I hope they succeed as it will be great for the brand.
