Correct me if i'm wrong, but it doesn't look like there's much room to put in turbos and the associated accessories?

Lexus has the most dynamic grill in the business.
The RX is too big. The RC is slightly too wide at the bottom.
All the rest I have no negatives about.

As SW15LS said, this isn't an issue, you should instead spend your time wondering about something productive, like how to buy one of these when it comes out next year.

Oh I already have a plan for that. Planning to splurge on a used one in 2025 with 100k miles or so.

A second gen LC should be out by then, should help depreciate this 2018 model more

The Lexus LC 500 Says "No" to "No"

The Lexus LC 500 is a sort of triumph for the company.

Pricing wise, how would the LC compare to the RC?

Both are more grand tourer than sports car but the RC looks like the odd duck, especially as it's made from a mix of IS and GS parts. Maybe a downsized variant of the LC could replace the RC not long after 2017. It makes sense for Lexus to use a common, updated platform for cost and dynamics reasons: BMW and Mercedes are already doing this with their top sedans and coupes, with BMW also using composites and aluminum to increase strength and reduce weight.

Heck, Lexus made the gorgeous LFA out of composites, so they definitely have the know-how. It's just that tricky matter of cost...

Check out this interview with Mark Templin on Lexus Enthusiast that was just posted today:

Did you ever consider reviving the SC nameplate?
The LC is a completely different segment to the SC, so we were very careful not to use the SC name. With the all-new platform and the craftsmanship and the technology that we’ve put into the LC, it competes with cars that are much more expensive.
The LC will start under $100,000, but under $100,000 is a lot different than the SC price.
Very interesting that they believe the SC was a lower segment model when for the longest time it was the flagship Lexus coupe (and I guess the only one for a while). This could mean the SC could return in the future to slot in between the RC and LC. The LC will start just below $100,000 and the RC200t starts at just below $40,000. There is much room for a SC coupe in the lineup.

They're not going to replace the RC 2 years into its existence lol

The IS and GS are on the same platform, and that platform sprinkled with some other stuff makes the RC. That platform is only 3 years old. That platform isn't going anywhere, nor do we want those cars put on a bigger car platform (the LC and LS are going to be derived from that platform). Thats what BMW did with the 5 Series and look what that did to the chassis.

The IS/GS chassis is a GREAT chassis. Every car doesn't have to be derived from the same thing.

That's because BMW did it badly. I highly doubt the next-gen G30 5-series is going to suffer in the same way the F10 5-series did from sharing a platform with a bigger sibling. That's the beauty of the increased modularity of modern platforms.

I think BMW's problem is they did the F10 5 series on the cheap since they were pouring all their R&D money into weird hybrid cars that nobody is going to buy like the i3 and i8(although the i8 is beautiful).

And these comments are coming from someone who owns a G37 convertible.
True, but I wonder amongst the luxury competitors alone (Lexus, BMW, MB, Porsche, Jag, Audi, Infiniti etc) what proportion of the vehicles they've sold are convertibles? I'd be willing to wager it would be higher than 1%...

They are waiting so long because they (Lexus management) are putzes that exist to satisfy themselves instead of being perceived and proactive market makers
