Great Volvo XC60 lease available
#4
Have any of you owned a Volvo? I just ordered a XC90. I have had my RX for the past 12 years and it is such a great car. I am nervous, my RX has been a dream and is so reliable. Our family is growing and we need a third row at times, for friends and family. We have considered the LX, but, I just can't bring myself to pay that much for a car.

gptgirl - I have my eye on the new XC90 as well. I'm rather nervous about it also; first near, new platform... etc. but I still think I will move forward with it in the near future. Just another reason why it is silly for Lexus to not offer a 3 row RX(or similar). The LX makes no sense to me whatsoever, especially at that price point. Also I am pretty sure the Highlander can't even be had with HID lights. Hopefully management eventually figures out that not having a 3 row crossover or and not offering carplay is forcing many customers out of the brand. Per my multiple conversations with the two VOLVO dealerships they are surprised every day at how many Lexus/BMW/Mercedes clients are buying and loving the new XC. I loved the ride, and it looks stunning in the R Design trim in Bursting Blue. If there was a three row RX with Carplay I would be back with Lexus and not even look back.

The first run of XC90's are having teething issues with the electronics. I'd expect them to have those largely corrected by the time yours gets here. My coworker has had a few issues on hers that mirrored online reports but she's been quite happy otherwise. I've enjoyed my passenger seat time in it and would consider one for myself if it was a bit quicker.

The XC90 really sets the bar high in the crossover game. Tesla like infotainment, Swedish Style and simple but elegant design language, next generation safety systems (including exceeding almost every single gov test almost as they knew what to expect), 3 useable rows of seating and cargo capacity.
The only knock is reliability. So far the software which this vehicle relies heavily upon needs to be really polished. Sunroof drain leaks are fairly common. Price has started to drop from above sticker or sticker to the last I saw was $2500 off.
In addition, to steal the RXs lunch money, theyre launched the slower T5 without the 3rd row. It`ll be cheaper, offered in a FWD only form. The engine will be slower but without the 3rd row, I wouldnt worry too much.
Pretty much the new Volvo is being stabilized by the XC90s various trims including a PHEV t8.
Finally supply is unable to keep up with demand at this point.
The XC60 I think is the next in line to replaced with its sucessor so right now volvo will do all it can to get some butts in their again small suv

Edmunds on the XC90
Pros
Sharp new look and style; spacious second- and third-row seating; many standard safety technology features; confident handling; available hybrid model.
Cons
Overly busy and firm ride quality; base engine comes up short on performance and real-world fuel economy; some touchscreen controls are hard to use.
Yes,reliability is questionable and I'm not a fan of the Chinese partial ownership.
