I have no dog in this fight lol, but a .5 second difference 0-60 is definitely significant.

The car .5 second quicker will handily "smoke" the slower car.

0.5 sec difference in 0-60 translate to huge difference in real life driving as well. My 750i was 4.7, now My M is 4 sec, and the difference in power is night and day.

btw why there is no LC vert? I'm sure lot of people would buy a 100k vert than a coupe.

my point is clear and simple, the LC500 is not marginally faster than the LCh, it's considerably faster. i am never hung up with 0-60, i will leave that to you any day (i wasn't even the one bringing that up). given that i drove both cars back to back for comparison, i think i have a much better feel on the difference and your claim / assumption is very questionable

So the 500 is way faster than the hybrid

Maybe Lexus should put in a fake sound in the LCH in sport mode to stir up some emotion!

Finally got to sit in an LC500 today and play around with the instruments and sound system. The interior atmosphere is great, I'm really digging it and unless MB comes out with some news on the CLS in 2017, I think I'm ready for the LC.

I think the Hybrid might be priced the same as the v8 since its over 100hp lower but makes up with tech. I guess we'll all see.

Car was really fun, can't wait to test drive.

Other than sheer speed, most of the people that can afford a car like this likes bragging rights. It's about egos, I'm not saying everybody is like that but most, and I think Lexus fails to grasp that aspect when it comes to selling at or near the $100k mark.

To me this car was a letdown in person if its $100k.
For $75k - yes it would have a solid demand.

The styling is unique but not for everyone, interior tech is behind Audi, MB, BMW flagship 2 door coupes.
The main problem is the old engine. If this was launched with 500+hp, the other issues would not be as glaring.
when the reviewers get their hands on this thing, they will bltch about the old underpowered engine.

what a ridiculous thing to write... A7 is very old and it shows everywhere... 6 series is not even a flagship coupe. MB at 75k, which one?

lol

The flagship coupes are:
Audi R8
BMW i8 / M6
MB GT / S550 / SL550
Jaguar Ftype R
Maserati GranTurismo
Porsche 911

The Lexus LC is NOT a direct competitor but these are the choices between $100-200k.
It is the flagship coupe for Lexus and it will be priced right at about $100k.

I said if the LC500 were priced at $75k, it can do very well.
Also i never mentioned A7 as its not even a coupe.

Please define "interior tech" and how it is "behind".

I am sure all of those cars would do really well if they were priced $50k less than their MSRP.

Interior wise, S Coupe can go there, others cant touch it for luxury. BMW 6 series and A7 with more equipment is what it is going to be cross shopped with.

Are we going to talk about overweight BMW and MB's now or is that suddenly not important? Is +400 and +700lbs going to be porky or is it "right sized"?

It is also a 4 seater... I am having hard time seeing someone cross shopping it with 911 or F type or GT but I am sure some will... just not majority.

Funny how everyone and their grandmother is weighing in about how bad, how slow, how out-of-date the LC is, even before they have sat in one, much less driven one.

It is quite perplexing that they are using an old engine for this model. The S-class coupe does have a 5.5 biturbo engine that makes 449hp so the engine is quite competitive in that regard.

As far as I can tell, Lexus will launch the LC with the V8 and the Hybrid

many folks on forums have, they didn't build just what I wanted so I will tear it down syndrome

when the LC concept came out, folks clamored for it to be produced and Lexus listened, be happy people

look at who walks into Lexus stores, mostly calmer adults, and the LC will appeal to them just fine

the car is rolling sculpture with a dose of I want to sit in there and this is really fun to drive

maybe we will see an LC-F in the future and that would be great
