Default Taking new car for roadtrip?

Hey i would really like some input.
I've recently bought a new '15 is250 f sport crafted line and would really like to drive it to new york about 13 hours one way, it's at 4700 miles , is this a bad idea to take a car this new on a 700mile trip? I plan to have it clear bra on the front just incase

Agree with the others, 4700 miles is no longer new, enjoy it and take it on a nice long road trip. Being as it is a Toyota, it won't be broken in till 200k miles anyhow.

Done it before. Do it and enjoy. Put on a clearbra before you leave if you're that concerned.

How are you going to keep the miles down? By renting a Corolla and driving the trip in that instead? If you own it, enjoy it. If you drive it more miles than you anticipated, so be it.

do you have a clear bra?? Your windshield will not be prisitne when you get back either. Thats a lot of mileage. Id personally rent a car for that kind of a trip and my car is a 2010.

Welcome to CL as a new poster.

Are you going to New York City or upstate New York? A bra would be a good idea if you are going to drive across Pennsylvania on the way to New York City. There are a lot of coal trucks running across the western part of the state...and sometimes pieces of coal fly off or are kicked up on the road by vehicle-tires. If you are going further upstate NY, you won't be spending as much time on PA's roads. PA and OH have a reputation for some torn-up roads, although the PA and OH Turnpikes are usually in better condition because they get maintenance-funding from tolls. Right now, the weather in that part of the country is warm, but sharp changes are coming this weekend, with maybe snow squalls in northeastern OH, northwestern PA, and western NY state near Lake Erie.

Also, one last thing......the PA Turnpike, if you drive it, has relatively few exits (some of them are are 30-40 miles apart)......so plan your gas stops accordingly.

Have a nice trip.

dude, CONGRATS !!!! That is a big deal. As long as you have the clear bra I would stress it then. The windshield can get pitted but only if you follow closely. I think your golden.

Congrats again. Thats a BIG deal
