Certainly the opinion of one angry nerd makes it a commandment.
F-sport vehicles taking up over 30% of Lexus' sales so far this year and picking up younger buyers completely demolishes their argument.
If you build it, they will come. Lexus built it and they certainly "came".
A year ago, it seemed almost impossible that Lexus could over take BMW and MB for the sales crown in a few years let alone bring the possibility of doing it in the next year. Kudos to Lexus.

You can't really say that the new design direction led to this. Lexus was number one for so many years in the late 90s and early 2000s without the spindle or anything aggressive. I do think they went a bit overboard, from one end of the spectrum to the other. They haven't found their balance of timeless elegance and sport just yet, but Im happy they are testing the waters

Lexus Fanatic
I certainly wasn't on the boring-accusation list. I thought Lexus had it just about right in the late 90s and early 2000s.....before the big push to sport-orientation and lighter/thinner materials started.
They wouldn't likely all three be attacking Lexus at once. Don't forget.....those three brands compete with each other, as well as with Lexus. .
Something tells me these chumps are on Audi, Mercedes & BMW payroll.

i think one thing has to be understood. there is a recent article about how big of a % of lexus sold is fsport. keep in mind, almost all lexus are allocated / ordered by the dealerships. it doesn't directly reflect what customers want. a lot of times it's about what's on the lot and those become the choices for people.

I don't think Jalopnik folks are that bad. If you want to see blatantly paid for comments from UAW, check out comments for any honda/toyota/acura/lexus on autoblog.
I think there was an article from TTAC that proved this by tracking IP addresses of commenters back to GM.
