^ Agree. While you can't fault the E46 for being a remarkable drivers car, the E92 4.0 is something to behold.

The E46 has personality. I got myself an e46 330i ZHP just days back.
Edit: here is somebody who moved from e46 to e92

Very clean rides im debating to get the e92 stock or e46 heavily modded with the extra money I save from not getting the e92

Have you thought about the Z4m Coupe? It's got the same engine as the e46
With the ESS supercharger, that thing does wonders.
My cousin has one and it's amazing!

A friend has the E92 M3 and I find the S65 engine absolutely brilliant. Great throttle response and really rewarding when pushing deep into the rpms.

You could also buy an E92 335i and spend the money you save on mods. The twin turbo inline six responds very well to mods. With a simple programmer, intake, and cat back exhaust you can get about 150 more hp over stock out of it running E85 fuel. WIth just the programmer and slightly upping the boost they're faster than an E92 M3.

Isn't that the motor with all the HPFP problems?

My buddy recently traded in his modded 335i for the E92 M3 with M exhaust, he complaint about the less power but love the handling differences.
