Does this rendering make you think that Lexus could be a big-time player in the full-size, luxury pick-up, U.S. market?

Given the experience that Lincoln and Cadillac have already had trying to sell full-size pickups, my general answer would be no. That would apply not only to Lexus, but to probably any other manufacturer in the Tier 1 or Tier 2 category as well. The public just doesn't associate those automakers with pickups.

Interesting, but odd looking with the large front.

I agree with MMarshall.

Also, my first thought - It's a Pig with lipstick. (and I mean that being pro-Toyota/Lexus, knowing they will simply re-badge a Tacoma with fake leather and maybe a bit more sound damping)

Toyota/Lexus, why not really improve the interiors of the Tacomas and Tundras.

I will put a little different of a spin, the Lincoln Mark T (can't remember the name) was a total rebadge. And the Escalade was not really a truck, it was a Suburban with a bed. They were also iin the half ton segment. They would need to do 3\4 ton or full ton

These days, some of these 2500-3500 trucks are North of $70K. So there is a market for high end trucks. We have them now.

The Tundra, in 1794 Edition, already has Lexus grade leather in it.

I think the guys that are buying the super expensive F-150's and Laramie Longhorn Rams, Sierra Denali, etc. like that it still has a "modest" badge/brand name, and not some "hoity toity" brand.

I love it! Stylish Kenworth mojo grille and Freightliner headlights. Spiff up the sides and rear and it's good to go.

Yes, it's true that there are some high-zoot pickups like The Ford King Ranch, Ram Laramie, etc.....but they are not sold under Tier 1 or Tier 2 brand-names. I agree, though, that in some cases, their price tags would suggest that,

Well, I have always said that the Cadillac Escalade is a tier 1 product, the brand is sometimes too. And I look at it in the way that if MB can sell as status symbol a $150K version of the G Wagon which is used in militaries all over the place, then it would probably be possible. But, I don't think it will ever happen with MB. Its bound to happen for Cadillac or Lincoln to jump in, but it would have to be the HD trucks for it to work

Wait, wait! Wasn't there a thread that women lusted after men in pickups? Now here is the fantastically, beautiful, "Lexus" pick up. How can they possibly resist? They'll be lined up begging for a ride in one.

Wife may have problems with that....
