Look for the first $65,000 Grand Cherokee Trackhawks at gas stations, wrecker yards, gas stations, police impound lots, gas stations, the wrong side of guard rails... oh, and gas stations.

I agree, was just referring to the Car and Driver link that Bit posted.

Not the first, though, by any means. Over the years, there's been a number of muscle-car SUVs on the market...............GMC Typhoon, Dodge Shelby Durango, several different AMG Mercedes SUVs, and even the last-generation SRT-8 Grand Cherokee. But to see one with this kind of power, admittedly, is rare....even for an AMG.

Fair question. I think they will sell to those who just want the fastest Jeep ever. It's a collectable I also think it will bring some good advertising to the brand. Hopefully the few that are lucky enough to get one will be capable of handling all that power, but we know how that goes sometimes.

I might bite for $75k (with 15% discount). Most likely wait for 2nd yr when there are surplus on the dealer lots. I see new leftover Hellcat Charger and Challenger currently sitting on lots discounting 15-20% just to move them. Currently 1267 new Challenger, 346 Chargers Hellcats. There are only so much demand for these vehicles. I remember when they first came out, there was a LONG waiting list and huge dealer markup. Some owners even flipped them for a good profit on eBay.

Good post. That was the point I was going to make, but you beat me to it.

What probably happened is that once those buyers got past the huge dealer mark-ups, they THEN had to deal with huge insurance mark-ups. A lot of them probably just said screw it....it's not worth it.

I don't think anybody who would want a 700 hp Hellcat is worried about insurance costs lol

This dealer is already discounting over 17% on their 2017 SRT8 JEEP

You can get that kind of discount on any JGC. Deep discounts are the name of the game on any Chrysler. I was looking at Pacificas, they advertise 15% off on them too.
