Talking 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (updated pg.2)

0-60 3.5 seconds.
oh and room for all your stuff too.

Jeep gave its U.S. dealers a sneak peek at the hottest machine in its upcoming lineup: the Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk. Yes, it’s real.

The Hellcat-ified Grand Cherokee, which we’ve been telling you about for a while now, was shown to Fiat-Chrysler dealers during the automaker’s annual dealership meeting in Las Vegas yesterday, Automotive News reports. As it will pack the 707-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 found in Dodge’s neck-snappiest Challenger and Charger, Jeep told the assembled vehicle peddlers that the all-wheel-drive SRT Trackhawk will accomplish the zero-to-60-mph sprint in an astounding 3.5 seconds. For the record, the quickest such time posted in our last mega-SUV comparison test was 4.0 seconds, by the BMW X5 M. Timing for the Trackhawk’s arrival wasn’t confirmed, but our latest intelligence suggests it will be on the road by next summer.

from here: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ng-for-feature

Look for the first $65,000 Grand Cherokee Trackhawks at Costcos, gas stations, drag strips, and meetings of the South Jersey mafia starting in mid-2016.

IMO, this needs to be AWD....I don't need to see another Hellcat just melting the tires and not moving.

With 700 HP, it's probably better to burn up two rear tires than all four of them at once.

true, but seriously, with AWD this thing will really be a superfast vehicle...not just a muscle car er truck er whatever.

Well, 3.5 seconds to 60 is not exactly econocar territory.

I hope that the engineers did some serious work on the suspension and center-of-gravity (as much as possible on the COG). With that kind of power, one can quickly get into trouble even on a low-slung sports car.....much less a high, tipsy SUV. Stability control, of course helps some, but that only controls some types of flip-overs......not all by any means.

This is great for Jeep and specifically the JGC line. A new Halo and testament to being capable on most surfaces thrown at it.

The addition of the Grand Wagoneer will support Jeep's high end ambitions, and their smaller offerings have gotten better.

Jeep is poised to do well

Don't give them any more ideas......they probably have enough of their own.

If it's really going to be the same price as the Charger Hellcat (which starts at $64,990), that's an amazing bargain.

Good for you jeep. This thing will smoke people with the challenger due to its AWD. Functional and Fast should be a winning combo

Well doubtful the TrackHawk would be priced the same, the current JGC SRT8 has a base of $64,895. $75K+ sounds more likely. Even then it still undercuts the competition base prices:

JGC SRT8 $64,895
JGC TrackHawk $XX,XXX

X5 M $98,800
X6 M $102,200
GLE63 S $107,100 (SUV)
GLE63 S $109,300 (Coupe)
Range Rover Sport SVR $111,350*
Maserati Levante $XXX,XXX*
Cayenne Turbo S $157,300
Bentley Bentayga $XXX,XXX*
Lamborghini Urus $XXX,XXX*
