Default Which SUV best matches the luxury of the GS

The RX is refined but does not have the luxury feel or features of the GS. In the mid-size SUV market, opinions on which SUV matches on luxury feel and features. We can leave reliability to last.

X5/X6/Q7/Cayenne/GX

I find the RX similar to ES/IS quality. Still a nice ride though.

This is a tough question IMO. That giant screen once get used to is hard to give up. You may want to wait for the new RX/LX or TX if it's coming.

RX is fugly. I'm sorry. I can't believe how fugly it is. I say go for the new Porsche Macan. It's badass.

Time is coming for my significant other to replace her vehicle. She is replacing a RAV4(not part of the equation). She likes the idea of a SUV, but she also loves the luxury and ride of the GS. She was not thrilled with the RX. Challenge is we believe in reliability so hard to go outside a Toyota/Lexus.

As others have said, you're looking at Porsche. The reliability on their cars is excellent; they're the only german make I'd consider owning for the long term without expecting issues.

If you're looking to match Lexus' reliability, you won't find anything close.

That aside, I would look at, in order:

X5
(Coming) Q7
XC-90
The new ML, whatever the new designation is.

Porsche is outrageously expensive as soon as you start adding any common sense options.

The next generation RX is suppose to be a step up in interior quality, but who knows. This current RX is nice, but doesn't really scream luxury. I would definitely take a look at the BMW X5.

Agree, Mercedes GLE should be pretty suave

It won't take much to improve the 4RX over the 3RX console plastics

Why was this moved from the GS thread? I own a 4GS and the question is based on the 4GS. Now folks potentially with no exposure to the GS are giving opinions in relation to the luxury attributes of the GS. Bad move.

Wait for the new RX if you can I'd say. It seems to nicely match the luxury level of the GS.

Don't get an X5, especially the E70 if you are looking. I had mine for 3 weeks before dumping it

Great advice. Especially with the level of details you provided. Your experience proves beyond doubt that the X5 is a failed product.
