Lightbulb Hyundai

Hyundai Motor America today reported its best June sales ever of 67,502 units, up less than one percent, surpassing the record-setting month of June 2014. Year-to-date sales of 371,150 represents a 2 percent increase and marks Hyundai's best opening six months ever.

"With dealers equipped with the right mix of vehicles for the summer selling season, we eked out an increase versus last year," said Bob Pradzinski, vice-president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. "Despite the SUV frenzy, Hyundai's small cars continue to do well."

The sub-compact Accent, recently awarded the highest honor in the small-car segment in the 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, saw sales gains of 14 percent for the month and is up five percent for the year. The compact Elantra saw sales soar in June, up 55 percent for the month, marking its best ever June. The Santa Fe family saw sales of 10,446, up 17 percent for the month and the Sonata Hybrid sales were the best June ever with sales of 2,334 units, up 53 percent over last year.

Lightbulb Kia

After outpacing the industry with the best 1st-half sales performance in company history, Kia Motors America’s (KMA) momentum continued in July with a record 56,311 vehicles sold. Kia is up 5.0 percent year-to-date, and the best-ever July sales total came in a month that saw:

The K900 earn the highest-ever overall score in AutoPacific’s® Vehicle Satisfaction Awards as well as Cadenza, Soul and Sportage topping their respective segments;
Soul EV availability expand to Oregon and Washington; and
The Sedona win the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEALsm) award in the Minivan segment.
“SUVs continue to push the industry, and while Sportage and Sorento were part of that trend, the big news for Kia is that our car line continues to make gains as demonstrated by the Forte compacts’ sharp increase in July,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP, KMA. “Consumer confidence remains high, and with Kia's standing as a proven quality leader we are seeing customers shopping the brand in increasing numbers as our summer sales event continues."

"We are delighted to have achieved a new monthly sales record,” said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “We would not have been able to achieve our current level of success without the hard work and dedication of our retailers, employees and independent distributors.”

“We have seen record numbers of consumers considering the Subaru brand. Consumers are not just shopping a single model – there has been strong demand for Outback, Forester, XV Crosstrek, Legacy, Impreza, as well as our performance models WRX and STI,” said Jeff Walters, senior vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. “Almost 60 percent of our sales this year have been to customers new to the brand and we continue to work closely with our parent company to maximize production to meet the demand,” added Walters.

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported U.S. sales for July 2015 of 27,157 vehicles, representing a 7.1-percent decrease versus July 2014. Through July, Mazda has sold 186,153 vehicles year-to-date, representing a year-over-year increase.

"July saw the sell down of Mazda2 and Mazda5 almost complete and the crossing over of the start of sales for CX-3 and MX-5 Miata, making it a transitional month," said Ron Stettner, VP, sales, MNAO. "We have high expectations for the new subcompact SUV segment that CX-3 plays in, as well as the arrival of the newest version of the world's best-selling sportscar – the MX-5 Miata – and look for both to bolster sales for Mazda and the industry through the balance of the year."

Key July 2015 sales notes:
Mazda3 recorded its best July since 2010 at 9,504 (2010 July sales were 9,389).
The all-new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata went on sale in July, contributing to MX-5's best July since 2008 at 1,130 units (2008 sales were 1,181).
Mazda CX-5 recorded its best July ever with 9,530 vehicles sold.
Combined sales of Mazda's sixth-generation vehicles (Mazda3, Mazda6, MX-5 Miata and CX-5) were up 7.9 percent YOY and 4.5 percent YTD.
As the company's sixth-generation of vehicle sales grow so does SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY – Mazda's no-compromise solution to driving performance and fuel efficiency has proven to be an affordable and beneficial solution for consumers. In July 2015, 90.3 percent of Mazdas sold were equipped with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY.
Mazda reported Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) July sales of 3,437 vehicles, down 5.5 percent YOY.
Mazda Motor de Mexico (MMdM) reported July sales of 4,482 vehicles, up 24.0 percent versus last year, making it the best June in MMdM history and the 30th consecutive month of YOY growth. Year-to-date sales for MMdM are up 46.0 percent with 30,429 vehicles sold.

Audi sets 55th straight monthly U.S. record with 20.8% gain in July 2015

August 03, 2015 | HERNDON, Virginia

- Fourth-best sales month in Audi of America history
- Demand for Audi SUV models increased 68.4% for the month
- All-time best July sales of Audi Certified pre-owned vehicles

Audi reported that its July 2015 sales increased 20.8% to 17,654 vehicles, a total that stands as the fourth-best monthly result ever in the U.S. market.

Audi achieved its best-ever July sales in the U.S., marking the 55th consecutive monthly sales record. The previous July record was set in 2014 with 14,616 Audi vehicles sold. Through the first seven months of 2015, Audi U.S. sales rose 12.4% from last year to 111,269 vehicles.

July results were bolstered by sales of Audi luxury SUVs, with a 68.4% increase in sales encompassing the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 models. The Q5 posted a 47.4% increase from last year, while the Q7 posted a 34.1% increase from last July.

“The showroom traffic that our dealers saw in July indicates that demand across the Audi product lineup is hotter than ever,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “We are confident that the Audi momentum will continue into the autumn selling season with the release of the entire model-year 2016 portfolio and the upcoming launches of the all-new TT and the first plug-in Audi, the A3 Sportback e-tron.”

The A3 model line achieved robust sales in July with a 46.3% increase over July 2014 sales. The A6 and A7 models also performed well, with year-over-year increases of 5.9% and 15.8%, respectively.

Audi Certified pre-owned vehicle sales also set a new July record, with a 10.3% gain on 4,542 CPO vehicles sold. CPO sales year-to-date have increased 9.5%.

Audi holds the longest running monthly record sales streak in the premium car market according to a competitive sales report from MotorIntelligence.com.

New model is coming, I'm sure the incentives aren't as hot right now. The E-class has declined its last years as well.

Arrow Gm

General Motor’s (NYSE: GM) Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands sold 272,512 vehicles in the United States in July 2015, a 6 percent increase and the four brands’ best combined July since 2007. The month was paced by an 18 percent increase in Buick sales, a 1 percent increase at GMC and an 8 percent increase in Chevrolet sales. Chevrolet’s results included a 24 percent increase in pickup, van and SUV sales, and the brand’s best July crossover sales ever.

Company-wide, retail deliveries climbed 14 percent year over year, and the company gained retail market share for the fourth month in a row thanks to a 16 percent gain at Chevrolet, a 15 percent gain at GMC and a 12 percent increase at Buick. The month was GM’s best July for retail sales since 2007.

Fleet deliveries in July were down 20 percent year over year, as the company continues to execute its plan to reduce sales to rental customers and grow commercial and government deliveries. Government sales were up 38 percent, with deliveries to state and local governments up 59 percent. Commercial deliveries were up year over year for the 21st consecutive month. Rental deliveries were down 36 percent.

“The 2nd half of 2015 is off to a great start, with industry sales above expectations,” said Kurt McNeil, GM’s U.S. vice president of Sales Operations. “GM has been steadily growing its commercial sales and retail market share, thanks to our strong truck and crossover portfolio. We feel very good about our truck strategy heading into the late summer and fall, when those segments usually heat up. We are the only manufacturer that has completely revamped its entire lineup of large SUVs, and mid-size, light duty and heavy duty pickups.”

The RC is off to a good start with only the RC 350 and RC F. Hopefully very soon we'll get the RC 200t and RC 300 awd sales will really take off not just in the U.S. but worldwide.

July 2015
4 Series 3,190
RC 1,232
A5 1,105
G37 coupe 319

YTD 2015 (Jan - July)
4 Series 28,096
RC 7,962
A5 7,824
G37 coupe 2,611

Since Inception
4 Series 66,316
RC 9,884
A5 108,849

I'm projecting that Lexus will sell about 14,000 units of the RC for all of 2015.

RC 200t (coming soon)
RC 300h (outside U.S.)
RC 300 awd
RC 350
RC 350C (hopefully coming soon to replace IS 250C/350C)
RC F

Lexus bring the RC 300h to the U.S.

Audi has the A5, S5 and RS5. I'm sure most sales are of the A5 base model...

Good to see RC doing well - this car would be amazing once they replace the old 3.5 V6 with a turbo 6 - probably another 2-3 years when they do a refresh.

Is the RC convertible dead?

Is that really considered a good start? I'm serious. It's barely outselling the ancient A5.
