Actually they did separate it for June 2015
4Series sales were at 6,000+ about same as 3series
4GranCoupe is a big hit.

same hope and prediction every month.

June 2015
RC 1,129
A5 1,101
G37 coupe 366
4 series 6625

YTD 2015 (Jan - June)
RC 6,730
A5 6,719
G37 coupe 2,292
4 series 24906
filled that in for ya.

If you total the ES, IS and RC, 4,742+3,821+1,129=9,692. Comes close to the 3/4 Series...
sorry, not even remotely close (or comparable). 3/4 series 13516

Bit

Where you been

I am the top Chrysler hater

Ever been stuck in traffic?

It is usually due to some rusted out Chrysler minivan that is going below the speed limit in the middle lane (with at least one broken tail lamp)

For some reason, the 4 series GC does look so much better than the 3 series GT, even though they are the same vehicle. lol

Joking of course. Nissan avoids any colorful language or bragging in their sales press releases even though they're doing great.

Not sure why u say they are same vehicle - they do share platform but both are very different.

Holy ! at 4 series sales. I'd be really curious to know the breakdown of coupe vs gc sales. I've yet to see a gc in real life.

Because the 3 series GT is a hatch version of the 3 series. and the 4 series is supposed to be the two door version of the 3 series, but they added back the rear doors and did a hatch in the back, making it essentially a 3 series GT.

G37 coupe 2,292

Since Inception
RC 8,652
A5 107,744

I'm projecting that Lexus will sell about 14,000 units of the RC for all of 2015.

RC 200t (coming soon)
RC 300h (outside U.S.)
RC 350
RC 350C (hopefully coming soon to replace IS 250C/350C)
RC F

Lexus bring the RC 300h to the U.S.

BMW does not separate the 4 Series from the 3 Series and lumps them together. I'd love to know how many 4 Series sell...428i, 435i and M4...

Audi has the A5, S5 and RS5. I'm sure most sales are of the A5 base model...
You really believe the RC is doing well. I wonder about the success, I saw 11 cars in stock at my local dealer on Friday.

Obviously the RC isn't as successful as the 4 Series. Just like the GS isn't as successful as the 5 Series. Just like the IS isn't as successful as the 3 Series. Lexus is happy that the RC, GS and the IS is meeting the sales goals/projections.

However you have to wonder the success of Toyota as it is the largest auto manufacturer in the whole entire world. Maybe Toyota wants to keep the RC and GS exclusive, who knows?

The 4 Series includes the 428i, 428i vert, 428i Grand Coupe, 435i, 435i vert, 435i Grand Coupe, M4, M4 vert, etc. Lexus only has the RC 350, RC F and the RC 300h sold even more exclusive. Maybe with the introduction of the RC 200t will Lexus sell more of the RC line. I think Lexus should do more with the RC in the U.S. Do what BMW does and expand the RC line not just in the U.S. but around the whole world as such:

RC 200t
RC 300 awd
RC 300h (bring to the States)
RC 350
RC 250C/350C (convertible)
RC F

well i noticed yesterday on directv (not for the first time) lexus has a 24 hour (at least) informercial running over and over, this time about the gs. it's pretty terrible, but more pathetic, in the description it says "Discover the performance, and handling that invigorates with the Lexus GS. Build your GS, and play hockey trivia."

lexus is likely to keep the gs 'exclusive' with terrible marketing like this.

idea is to make most profit per car, not to make most cars... and overall Toyota is most profitable manufacturer by far (both overall but especially per vehicle), obviously a lot of that comes from Lexus and not models like Camry which are usually discounted and sell to fleets.

I think profit per car and quantity of cars go hand in hand.

My point as that there were 11 RC models on grounds which seem a little unusual for Toyota or Lexus. Seems to me the car is not moving

Of course any company is in business to be profitable. Once upon a time not only was GM the largest car company in the whole world, GM was THE largest company in the whole world...then GM fell from grace big time...and has been reduced to a much smaller auto manufacturer...obviously losing many division such as Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, Oldsmobile, Saab, etc...If Toyota wanted to they can write a check and buy GM if they so desired...

Toyota is a conservative company and would like to be number one in every category. Lexus may not be perfect but it's closer to perfection than it's competitors...
