Subaru of America, Inc. today reported record sales for June 2015 totaling 44,335 vehicles, a 7.2 percent gain over June 2014. The company also reported year-to-date sales of 272,418 vehicles, a 14.5 percent gain over the same period in 2014.

June marked the 16th consecutive month of 40,000+ vehicle sales for the company. Forester, Outback, XV Crosstrek and WRX/STI sales were notably strong as each model line achieved its best June ever. Legacy sales for June 2015 increased 44.6 percent over the same month in 2014. Both the 2015 Legacy and WRX earned Best Retained Value® Vehicle Awards from Edmunds.com. The awards recognize brands and new car models that have the highest projected residual values after five years based on their average True Market Value® (TMV®) price when sold new.

In June, Subaru announced package and pricing details for its new SUBARU STARLINK™ connected services. STARLINK, the brand’s in-vehicle platform that provides hands-free connectivity, entertainment and safety services, also integrates the touch-screen audio and navigation systems available in select 2016 Subaru models.

“We are excited to debut our all-new SUBARU STARLINK™ connected services on three 2016 Subaru models -- the Forester, Legacy and Outback,” said said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “These new safety and security capabilities will bring even more people to the Subaru brand.”

“Subaru sales continue to climb because we have the right product, the right positioning and a strong retail network,” said Jeff Walters, senior vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. “Select 2016 model year vehicles are beginning to arrive in showrooms and we know this will further fuel our sales growth this summer.”

Audi reported that its June 2015 sales increased 8.3% to 18,262 vehicles, a total that stands as the third-best monthly result ever in the U.S. market.

Audi also achieved its best-ever June sales in the U.S., marking the 54th consecutive month-over-month sales record. The previous June record was set in 2014 with 16,867 Audi vehicles sold. Through the first half of 2015, Audi U.S. sales rose 11.0% to 93,615 vehicles from the year-earlier period.

“Audi is seeing stronger demand than ever before,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “This is the result of the best lineup we’ve ever enjoyed across the board. And with the launch of the Summer of Audi Sales Event attracting even more premium car buyers to our showrooms, we expect to continue building greater momentum in the months ahead.”

The A3 model line achieved record sales in June with a 42.0% increase over June 2014 sales. The A6 and A8 models also performed well, with year-over-year increases of 11.0% and 10.6%, respectively.

June represented strong demand for Audi luxury SUVs, with a 24.1% increase in sales encompassing the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 models. The Q5 posted a 6.1% increase from last year, while the Q7 posted a 14.1% increase from last June.

Audi Certified pre-owned vehicle sales also set a new June record, with a 14.4% gain on 4,176 CPO vehicles sold. CPO sales year-to-date have increased 9.3%.

Audi holds the longest running monthly record sales streak in the premium car market according to a competitive sales report from MotorIntelligence.com.

Lightbulb Kia

After setting an all-time monthly sales record in May, Kia Motors America’s (KMA) momentum continued with best-ever June sales of 54,137 vehicles, capping off the greatest 1st-half performance in company history. With more than 300,000 vehicles sold in 6 months, Kia is up 4.6 percent year-to-date. Sales of the Sedona minivan, which was completely redesigned for the 2015 model year, reached new heights with a 707-percent increase over June 2014.

“Customers continue to turn to Kia in increasing numbers for our world-class design, technology, value and, of course, our quality, which was recently reaffirmed in J.D. Power’s annual Initial Quality Study in which Kia finished 2nd overall and 1st among non-premium brands,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP, KMA. “With our ‘Summer’s On Us’ promotion attracting even more traffic into showrooms, June proved to be a historic month for Kia as we recorded both the best quarter and 1st half sales performances in company history.”

Lightbulb Hyundai

Hyundai Motor America today reported its best June sales ever of 67,502 units, up less than one percent, surpassing the record-setting month of June 2014. Year-to-date sales of 371,150 represents a two percent increase and marks Hyundai’s best opening 6 months ever.

“With dealers equipped with the right mix of vehicles for the summer selling season, we eked out an increase versus last year,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice-president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. “Despite the SUV frenzy, Hyundai’s small cars continue to do well.”

The sub-compact Accent, recently awarded the highest honor in the small-car segment in the 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, saw sales gains of 14 percent for the month and is up five percent for the year. The compact Elantra saw sales soar in June, up 55 percent for the month, marking its best ever June. The Santa Fe family saw sales of 10,446, up 17 percent for the month and the Sonata Hybrid sales were the best June ever with sales of 2,334 units, up 53 percent over last year.

Dont see how anyone is going to catch BMW. Such a gigantic lineup, so many choices. The 4-series Coupe is in a league of its own. 6k+ sales compared to the RC and A5/S5 at 1k+ each. lol crazy.

How is that innovative and experimental (more like another half azd job)?

The RC is off to a good start with only the RC 350 and RC F. Hopefully very soon we'll get the RC 200t and sales will really take off not just in the U.S. but worldwide.

June 2015
RC 1,129
A5 1,101
G37 coupe 366

YTD 2015 (Jan - June)
RC 6,730
A5 6,719
G37 coupe 2,292

Since Inception
RC 8,652
A5 107,744

I'm projecting that Lexus will sell about 14,000 units of the RC for all of 2015.

RC 200t (coming soon)
RC 300h (outside U.S.)
RC 350
RC 350C (hopefully coming soon to replace IS 250C/350C)
RC F

Lexus bring the RC 300h to the U.S.

BMW does not separate the 4 Series from the 3 Series and lumps them together. I'd love to know how many 4 Series sell...428i, 435i and M4...

For the BMW 3/4 Series, June sales were 13,516 which is crazy...

If you total the ES, IS and RC, 4,742+3,821+1,129=9,692. Comes close to the 3/4 Series...

Audi has the A5, S5 and RS5. I'm sure most sales are of the A5 base model...
