MM Full-Review: 2015 Toyota Corolla

Sorry but the year is 2015, there should be no excuse for a solid beam axle on a sedan. I truly wish Toyota would of put a multi link or independent in the rear of my Corolla. The Matrix put a rear independent in back for the 2.4 and I think the 09-13 Corolla 2.4 had an IRS as well.
The Corolla, Cruze/Verona should have it.
The Corolla, Cruze/Verona should have it.
The Matrix AWD model had a multilink independent rear suspension but no other Corolla or Matrix models had the IRS. The torsion beam suspension has a cross-component that gets in the way of the drive shaft to the rear axle, which necessitated the IRS.
Still, you (and tens and tens of thousands of North Americans) bought the Corolla.

As spwolf pointed out, if a group of auto journalists, who test-drive cars for a living, could not see a noticeable difference between the Golf's IRS and beam-axle versions, then I don't think it's worth whining about like some people do.
