Default Added sauerkraut to the family

GS350 F Sport has been great, but now that the family will be growing to 3 I needed to get a 4dr as well.

F80 M3 picked up over the weekend. Drove all around socal before returning to norcal. Put about 600miles on it this weekend.

Something about me and black cars.

Z4M coupe is black
GS350 F sport is black
M3 is also black

my quick review of the M3 compared to the GS350

Interior: I didn't want leather interior for my M3, so I got the cloth carbon. Seats are more supportive vs. the GS, but GS is more comfy. GS 12" nav screen seems better than the M3. I like the iDrive on the M3 better. More legroom in the back for the GS. Carbon inlays/trim pieces are better vs. aluminum in the lexus.

power: no comparison here. M3 wants to go the moment you step on it and continues to go. Lexus 3.5V6 lacks low end power and is slow off the line.

overall: both are somewhat different cars and I didn't want to get something similar to the GS. I thought about the RCF but couldn't stand the way it looked. Almost landed an RS5 but dealers kept playing that game. Once the lease on the GS comes up, GS-F will probably be the replacement.

also, my drive from LA to SF I got 26mpg avg while doing 80-90mph the entire time. I was lucky to get 24mpg on the GS going 75-80 on a recent trip.

Congrats on the M3!!! They're all over SoCal already. Did you custom over the M3? DCT? How did you like Rusnak?

I saw one M3 while driving around LA after picking mine up.

The car was built exactly to how I wanted but it came from dealer's lot.

6MT
adaptive suspension
rear sunshade
carbon trim
Harmon Kardon sound
cloth seats

I dealt with internet manager at Rusnak. I sent him an inquiry and after 3-4hours of going back and forth through email, we reached a deal. Flew down 3 days later to sign paperwork and drive the car off. EASY is an understatement.

Did you get any discount on it? M3 is too hot now everyone is selling MSRP.

about 6% under MSRP

Although other M3/M4 owners have gotten even better deals.

It's great deal already

BTW I was laughing when you said your family is growing so you switched from GS350 to a '4 door' M3. Lmao, good excuse to wife!

isn't it a bit surprising one was on the lot that was configured just how you wanted it?

Great decision on your part. The RS5 is a great car, but if you want something with torque off the line that isn't it. The V8 sounds great and has lots of pull, but torque really comes on at approx. 4k RPMs. If you were willing to go with a coupe the S5 is actually more fun than the RS5, although a new model will be coming in 2017. In any case, beautiful car! IMO the 4-door M3 is more attractive than the coupe.

M3 does come with cloth seats, weird it's not on the website. The cloth seats actually looks good, almost carbon fiber looking.

It was either m3, m4 or rs5.

4dr was most practical. It'll be hard to drive my wife's gs350 now.

Black was my 2nd choice. Yas Marina Blue was my first.

But since all the options I wanted were available I took the offer right away.

If you google carbon structure cloth seats you should be able to see pics.

They look good and have great support.
