forecasts were not low, Subaru is fastest growing brand in the US for past few years. They are way bigger than VW in the US for example.

As to the sales conquests, who knows. Globally it is still very small brand.

Congrats Subaru. I can't wait to see what they have in store for the North American market.

What would be nice, if they can make their cars slightly more green. Seeing they are already one of the safest car brands on the road.

yeah, Subbies get great mpg... plus they said that they will add direct injection to all of their cars in next few years, to improve both mpg and power.

I don't pay attention much to Subaru but when I do two thoughts come to mind.
Back in the late 90's-2000 when I was shopping for a car I saw this Subaru at a multi combo dealership on the floor. The specs for the car then were truly amazing for such a small car. Roughly 300hp and comparable torque and so forth. I thought "In THAT little package?" I was imprezzed.(Get it? HAD to do that).
The other thought was how they've seemed to have grown a lit since it's early days. I remember the big brouhaha about Subaru going bigger and it even made the news for a moment. A lot of back lash against that by purest. Today I was at my gym and there parked next to me today was a Forester. Too much of a station wagon for me but a quick glance I could easily see that the cargo area of that vehicle would rival that of my RX350. I may be wrong but it seemed like it.
Good compact and I wish them success on the same par with Mazda. Seems like a lit of value for that brand. Not too many stories about unreliability from them. They seem like troopers.

I totally get where you are going. CVT hasn't been perfected yet. I am not sure why car manufactures change stuff up because of PZEV (less options) and the list goes on.

gotta love your positivity --
how about new powertrains for the sub-$27K 268+hp, sub-$35K 305+hp 6 speed manual AWD pure sport sedans?

I really like the Outback 3.6R Limited and wanted to buy one for my wife.
She was dead against it.I asked her why such a dislike of the car.
Her only reason was she hates the brand name Subaru.
Go figure!

When dealing with women and cars, all logic and reason go out the window.

The same can often be said about men, but in different ways.

reasons could be any, including that it might remind her of some escapades in high school with a guy in his subaru that did not end up too well

Might be the people who buy and own Subarus. Its the official car of I only eat organic grass fed free range beef while sipping on my free trade coffee at my locally owned coffee shop on vegan lesbian poetry night.

Seriously I told my mom a few years ago to go look at a Subaru and her response was, I kid you not, "I'm not a dike and their station wagons are ugly" Told her they made sedans too, she was not going to even drive by the Subaru dealer.

I don't mean to insult your wife, Joeb, but................

I sometimes hear the same nonsense myself when I consult with and/or shop with people. One of the ladies on our condo board, recently, asked me my opinion of what vehicles would be best for her, at a good price, particularly among small SUVs for winter. When I mentioned the Kia Sportage (among several others, including some Subarus), her face suddenly went blank, and she exclaimed "I won't buy a Kia product, period". As she had never owned a Kia, her mind was still living in the past, back when Kia products WERE junk.

Classic stereotypes.....mostly nonsense. I'm generally conservative myself, don't support any LGBT groups, don't stick to organic foods by any means, and I owned an Outback for six years....absolutely loved it in the winter.

Seriously I told my mom a few years ago to go look at a Subaru and her response was, I kid you not, "I'm not a dike and their station wagons are ugly" Told her they made sedans too, she was not going to even drive by the Subaru dealer.
Sounds like history repeating itself LOL. (see my last post)

BTW, I'm not just picking on females here. A number of men are sometimes the same way.........unreasonably rigid in their views of some brands.
