Default Facelifted LX570 / Land Cruiser

Hmmmmmmmm?? Seems like an artist impression most likely similar to the real thing as the staff manual is going around in Japan. Looking forward to the LX.

Looks like the good old days of the Land Cruiser are coming to an end.

changes are not huge, but finally LC seems to be getting interior it deserves.

This has been expected for awhile of course, so I'm not sure why anyone (at least on CL) would be expecting a redesign. It just confirms the idiocy of some Lexus personnel, that were insistent on wrongly telling Hoovey that the LX is being "redesigned". It looks terrible to me, I gravely revile it.

What is Tokio Fukuchi doing? Some of the newer Toyota designs are not so unpleasant, which thankfully isn't the same for Lexus (no matter how many biased people protest about the Spindle).

I initially got the impression of a MY2017 redesign back in 2011, but that idea was torn to shreds 6-8 months when there was no refresh for MY2015. As I have said numerous times (thanks to UZJ), 13 months ago consumer clinics were testing 3 Land Cruiser proposals to 200 owners. It is likely if they were all the same dimensions, that these were strictly for the 300-Series.

At that point, usually will have some months to refine that into a production approved design (freeze). Study how since the 100, its been a case of about 42 months from that point. The LX470 design was approved as the LX450 was rolling off assembly lines and into dealers.

The current model was months past frozen, when the final 100-Series/LX470 refresh arrived in May 2005. Looking at how long the next LS is taking and recent Toyota elongated development cycles, this might arrive in late 2017 - mid 2018. Any longer than that, will be very interesting.

I personally would pass on this and will try to convince my father to replace his 2013 with a 2015 Land Cruiser V8 before production for UK models ceases. He never uses it, so makes no difference if this is what they can come up with. The 2012-2015 200-Series is the pinnacle of this generation in terms of design.

The 2015 may pale in comparison to newer equipment on the refresh, but that is just unfortunate to look at. I rarely give a personal opinion on a design (try to be neutral), but I am not getting a favourable impression from this. The LX450d/LX570 will look better I hope.

Thanks so much for posting these. As with the 2013 LS, I will now wait for the 2018 Land Cruiser and the 2016 LX570. It has an improved interior at least, but it's no Range Rover. Hopefully the LX will address that, especially for those of us that want 7+ seating.

I agree - they are absolutely ruining the LC with this iteration. The front end grill and headlights are as bad as it gets - no more classic front end for the LC apparantely.

It is a photoshop, however it is very accurate. Aside from the hood/how the bumper meets the fender, it is pretty spot on for a render.
