Went from a Lexus to a Ford....
So i recently sold my 2006 GS300 AWD and while looking for a replacement i picked up a 2000 corolla for a work/winter beater/gas saver until i could find/decide what i wanted. Well after looking at a 2005 C6 vette and a 2006 E60 M5 i ran across a stupid good deal on a 2013 Mustang GT i couldn't refuse. The car is a base model GT 6-speed with optional 3.73 gears and the SNYC system. So far i couldn't be happier with it! the car still feels and smells brand new, it drives great and has plenty of power. After coming out of a Lexus Im actually amazed by how nice it is for a Ford, yes I've given up some luxuries like the heated/cooled seats but honestly i never used half of the features on my Lexus anyway (rear sunshade, headlight washers,etc..) and the lexus nav system was a joke. ill gladly give all that up for the bluetooth and USB capability i have now. The car is still bone stock and has 20k miles on it and the precious owner bought a manufacturer extended warranty that covers it up to 2018 and 75K miles. Ive already ordered suspension, intake, exhaust and a tuner but I'm still deciding on the wheels.
Here are a couple pics of my Lexus and the new Mustang.

i maybe thinking about the 2015 Mustang GT Premium. It appears to have everything my car has: heated/cooled seats, bluetooth, keyless access, pushbutton start, driving modes, etc. Big difference is huge aftermarket support and high response to mods. My workplace is part of the Ford X Plan pricing and I can get a Ford for $100 under invoice before any incentives. I may seriously take a look at the end of 2015 MY to see if i can get a good deal. Hoping to get GT Premium with Performance Pack for under 35k by that time
get a throttle body for it too, its an inexpensive, takes about 10 min to install but has good for about 10-15 rwhp across the the board.

Yea the 2015's are really nice i went and looked at brand new ones before i pulled the trigger on this one but i just couldn't justify spending the extra $15-20k. As nice as the new ones are i dont feel they are $20k nicer than mine. Maybe i will trade mine and pick up a '15 in a couple of years after they depreciate a little.

I m thinking of ordering the mustang next spring just before winter ends. The cars are really nice now with a big upgrade in the interior quality. Your right for around 8 to 10 k you can make a screamer out of a mustang. The nice thing is in stock form its a only a couple of tics behind the RCF in speed tests for 35K less or so

Nice Mustang. I'm a huge Chevy/GM fanboy when it comes to muscle cars, but Ford has done some amazing stuff with the Mustang since they started putting that 5.0 V8 in it. Right now I'd take a Mustang GT over a new Camaro SS, something I would never thought I'd hear myself say in a million years(and I've owned two Z28 Camaros in the past).

Congratulations on the Mustang. Even with the live axle in back, a number of enthusiast-magazine reviews ranked the Boss 302 Mustang up with the BMW M3 (a world-famous sport sedan costing roughly twice as much) in handling and road manners. The new Mustangs, with the IRS, will likely do even better.

Motor Trend Head 2 Head Lap Times:
Camaro 1LE - 1:22.81
BMW M4 - 1:23.73
Lexus RCF - 1:24.05
Mustang GT Perf Pack - 1:24.32
15GT with perf package was faster than the Boss 302 during Ford testing. Just wait until the GT350 and GT350R come out

Its clear people cross shop all brands now, but that is also a byproduct of competition as even the domestics have a ton of offerings.
Look how much fun you can get for $35-60k (HP + Tech + Options)
Congrats on the new ride!

HAHA thanks guys... the last mustang i owned was an 03 cobra and this is light years head of it in terms of quality feel and the drivetrain is so smooth thru the whole power band.
Im sure i will own another lexus at some point although i will probably keep it 2005 and under as the direct injection engines from my 2IS and 3GS left a bad taste in my mouth for newer lexus vehicles. I will stick to the old school indestructability of the 2jz/1uz/3uz etc...
