I don't think that Viper was up to snuff...something happened to it, or bogged it down, just after the starting gate. Otherwise it would probably have been a lot closer race.
That vehicle, BTW, was not a minivan per se (but I guess you could call it a mini-minivan). U.S.-market versions were sold in the late 1980s and early 1990s in three different rebadges..... Mitsubishi Expo, Eagle Summit Wagon, and Plymouth Colt Vista.(couldn't tell, in the video, which version that was). It was one of early crossover unibody people-movers that were FWD/AWD and car-derived (early Colt Vista models were only FWD), yet smaller than the minivans. It was Mitsubishi-designed and built. I remember test-driving one......just copious amounts of body-roll.
