Default Best looking sedan in your opinion under 80K

I was driving to Ruston today and came up on a 4GS and I wasn't impressed at all. The back looks normal (decent). The car looks kind of "thin". The front looks like a Honda accord if you are like 3 car lengths head of it (those LED lights). The 4GS is #1 on the list of cars to get along with #2 Acura RLX. I think my car looks as good as it 3GS with vertex bodykit on it. Does any car out there stand out? The only thing I can think of is a Audi A7. The 2014 Mercedes E class with the sport package looks pretty decent also. The next car I get I want it to look pretty good, but I don't see anything that looks really good that is reliable that is available do any of you? When I say reliable I mean it can have 180K miles on it and you aren't scared to drive it 500 miles and back.

How many of you go for the looks of the car first and then everything else 2nd? I might have to skip that in thinking about what kind of car to get. The 4GS looks good in person when you are close up and walking around it, but when it is 3 car lengths back it looks normal. Maybe I am over thinking this but I wasn't impressed when I saw on infront and in back of me. It might just be me and only an exotic car would impress me. I just had to rant on this for today as I am still thinking about what to get when mine goes out and time to buy.

You're talking brand-new under 80K, right, not used?

I'd pick the Chrysler 300. This, IMO, is the classic way a sedan is supposed to look.

left brain... right brain...
practical... emotional...

we've all been there. we all want reliability, no one wants to spend more time than necessary in the service area or with a loaner. but on the other hand, most of us want to feel good when we see our car parked somewhere or are in the driver's seat or even see another one on the road ('ooh, that looks sharp, and it's like mine!').

$80k brings in a ton of vehicles... as for 180k mi. - NO ONE can predict an individual new vehicle's reliability, but obviously there's trends and past history, and lexus is tops there.

bang for the buck, i'd say a K900 and i have no doubt it can run 180k mi.

for $80k you could also get an awesome CPO LS460L.

if you want to spend less, heck look at the new maxima - looks incredible.

I really like the 2015 LS460 (non fsport ) the best. I just love the look of it inside and out.

Im a bit biased.

1. Current 535i / 550i in Msport

2. M3

3. New GSF (base should be 75k)

A7, IS350, CLS, Genesis are also very nice.

eh more of a sportback 4dr "coupe" much like the new Mercedes CLS class... coupe to me means 2dr, with a back seat.. has the meaning changed recently? So by my understanding, a 4dr is yes a sedan

Also in response to the OP, if you're after 180k+ an Audi aint gonna make it, the Benz might... if you baby and grandpa the crap out of it, it JUST MIGHT. But at that point yes id be hesitant to drive 500 miles in one shot

well, best looking I am not sure... most of the entries are not new, so they all look boring.

Base Tesla is most interesting one to me if EV is possibility.. otherwise GS-F has really nice interior... if in Europe maybe new E class will impress.

I see no mention of the Infiniti Q50s yet! I definitely love the 4GS but the Q50 gets me everytime, the front grill and headlights make it look very aggressive. Although not as performance heavy as say the BMW 335i or M3, for the price id definitely consider. IMHO heres my line up

1)Lexus GS350 F Sport takes the cake here, with the aggressive styling and the peace of mind knowing its reliable for at least 10 years, you cant go wrong

2)Inifinti Q50s. Its between this and the 4GS for me. Tough choice, with more power, a little bit more aggressive styling, AND reliable? IMO its quite hard to choose...

3)Hyundai Equus or Genesis 5.0. These two may not have the name behind them as Lexus Mercedes or BMW do, buut the car you get for the price you pay, puts these two at #3 on my list. With the power, luxury, and warranty Hyundai has to offer, its not a bad choice.

4)Mercedes E350 (or if the 550 is under 80k then definitely the 550). Styling is on point for Benz no doubt about that, but its the reliability that's got me on this one.... IMO Mercedes is more reliable than BMW but they cant even compare to Lexus or Infiniti in this ball game.

5)BMW 535i or 550i. Last, and well honestly in this case the least, I put the Beemer at #5. Reliability is out this window on this one... 180k miles? HA! Will it even reach 100 without something exploding? They have aggressive styling, (although not particularly in love with the newest styles, big fan of the e39 and e46 days), and peformance. The 535i and 550i or the M3 are definitely well worth considering if performance is on the top of your list, but sadly the reliability test puts these two at a solid #5 on my list.

Ill second this as well. Maxima is breath taking imo, and for the price? . Forgot about the K900, not too familiar with Kia but if theyre still offering that 100k waranty, then its definitely something worth considering

Audi S6
BMW M3, 550i

I doubt anyone spending more than 50k would consider a KIA though, as nice looking as they are.
