Toyota Safety Sense C (cheap) in Corolla scores 100% in JNCAP tests
New Safety Sense C (cheap) system aces JNCAP safety tech tests:
http://newsroom.toyota.co.jp/en/detail/7577223/
- This is the cheap system ($300 in the USA)
- JNCAP tests crashing against stopped vehicle at speeds of 20kmh, 30kmh, 40kmh, 50kmh, 60kmh
- Also tests braking vehicle in front of you at speeds of 45kmh and 60kmh
- Test parking camera visibility, LDW system and collision warning between 10kmh and 60kmh.
- System seems to work fast and smooth.
New cheap Safety Sense system scores better than systems in Camry, IS300h, NX300h, various Nissans, Mitsu, Honda's. Only matching vehicles are Subbies, Infiniti Q60 and latest LS460.
Right now tests are done between 10kmh and 60kmh, while this cheap system goes between 10kmh and 80kmh. So now they need to design better tests for next year that Safety Sense fails so we can progress in the future :-).
All of the results so far:

Toyota City, Japan, April 15, 2015―Thanks in part to the first-ever commercial deployment of the newly developed Toyota Safety Sense C collision avoidance support package, the Corolla Fielder and Corolla Axio have earned the top ASV+ rating under the JNCAP1 Preventive Safety Performance Assessment. Reflecting the high level of their preventative safety capabilities, both vehicles are the first in this fiscal year to receive full marks in the assessment (which was introduced last fiscal year).

Well done!
The videos you list is a bit misleading, spwolf. In the first video with the Corolla Axio, the dummy vehicle is actually moving so the test is the ability for the Corolla to brake when approaching a slow vehicle without radar cruise control. In the other 3 (X-Trail, NX and.. Odyssey?), they're being crashed into a stationary object at 50 km/h.
The Corolla TSS-C can only slow a vehicle down by 30km/h so it would hit the stationary object like the other 3 vehicles if it was doing the same test.

Here is 50kmh test score :-)
I am not sure what they exactly refer to when they say it can brake by 30kmh, it is not by second obviously either as that would be too fast for stopping.
