The 1Gen Barracuda had what was arguably the largest single pane of glass ever put on a regular production car.

I saw an episode of Count's Kustoms where they restored one of those....and the guys accidentally busted that window. It cost them some $$$ and a lot of time trying to locate a new one.

My first automobile was a 1989 Pontiac Firebird.

1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Bought it in 1981. Metallic Brown, with a white vinyl roof and white interior. Car was pretty basic as it only had 1 factory option and 1 dealer installed option. Factory option was A/C, Dealer installed option was a single rear speaker for the AM radio

That is nice. I am sure this can be adapted to modern lines and reintroduced.

Nice little roadster, and in great shape, too....but I'll bet you had fun with those old British Lucas electronics.

Oh it had a few more options than that I assure you. White vinyl top was an option. Did it have bucket seats, automatic, ps, pb, what engine was under the hood? Pretty much everything we take for granted as standard now days used to be an option.

As for my 1st car, 1991 Buick Regal sedan. 1st year for the Regal sedan since the early 80's. Mine was of course the FWD 3.8 V6 model. Good torquey engine, lousy brakes, good handling, rode incredibly smooth without any float. Loved that GM was still stuck in the 80's with this model, burgandy velour bench seat, acres of fake woodgrain, digital speedo with tons of idiot lights. The odometer broke at 94k about 5 years before I owned it, so it had 170k miles???? Funny thing was it was fautlessly reliable and didn't rattle until I got it in 2000. Then it completely fell apart after that, I have to give credit to GM engineers for designing everything to last exactly 10-11 years.

My first car was a well-used 1973 Opel Manta in Burgundy with burgundy corduroy seats. I lived in Florida at the time and the corduroy disintegrated from the heat. I guess it could have been considered an "exotic" since it had a sleek little body and everyone was buying American at that time. It had an added-on air conditioner and an 8-track deck that was mounted above the console so I had to insert the tapes backwards. If I was carrying passengers I turned the A/C off, put the windows down and asked them to "paddle" to get the car up to speed. I think it had a 1.8 liter engine that wheezed along. Opels were imported from Germany by Buick at the time. (Now they are just re-badging them, so everything old is new again.) My father bought the car for me because one of his business colleagues traded it in. I would have never chosen it for myself, but I have to admit it served me well for a long time.

My current car is in my signature, so I guess I'm back to German again, but I no longer need to paddle or cut the A/C. What a difference a few decades make!

My first car was free. 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass, sitting for 7 years. Far fetched from Lexus being this was just around 4 years ago that I had this. Drove it home after filling it with gas. Never cut out and drove great. I was 15 years old and didn't know much, but hey, we all had to start somewhere.

Wish I could say that picture is of the car I owned but it's just a picture, I haven't had the car in over 40 years
Good memory re:British Lucas electronics, the bane of many English cars of that era. Leaky top, side windows that constantly coming off the track, tranny went a year and a half after i got it. Still as time goes by I have fond memories of that little roadster. Good thread.
