I never ended up buying it because i ran it through carfax and it turns out at some point someone rolled back the odometer, original mileage was about 270k and it had over 10 owners as well as being involved in one minor accident before being imported to Qatar. The inspection did tell me about some paint work done but it was very minor, maybe rock chips and a fender bender which didn't bother me much as it was very nice underneath, as i said earlier much better than local rigs of the same year ( rust is a problem here as Qatar is a peninsula )
I am glad i took my time to check the history. I still stand by what i said, It was a nice rig and even though the mileage was much higher than i originally thought it still doesn't change my opinion of how that specific vehicle felt to drive, just goes to say how well these vehicles are built, they age very well. I still want an 80 series but for now it will have to wait. When i do decide to get one it will have to be a local version because i really want the 5 speed manual, much more fun out in the dunes.
