At the end of the day, it's still Bose.
As they say in the Audiophile world: "Bose blows"

I've got some fancy-schmancy Bang & Olufsen system in the new-to-me Audi and I still miss the Nakamichi from my 00' RX300. That was undoubtedly one of the best I've ever heard to this day. I've never been a fan of Bose gear and would be surprised to see this get any positive reviews.

I've always thought automakers should have more speakers to help disperse the sound. This can be done without necessarily having to increase power, rather just distribute the existing power more widely. Bose is hit or miss. I had a Bose in my 1997 maxima and it sounded awesome. The mark levinson in my LS430 is still the best factory system I've ever heard though. It reproduces sound extremely well, especially the deep bass which I love! I do wish there was a sub behind each rear seat instead of just one in the middle; to rear passengers siting back there the sub sounds one-sidded to them.

As to Bose, their all in one systems do sound good as the amp module incorporates equalization. Their speaker separates need lots and lots of equalization to sound good, which not a sign of good speakers.
I forgot the S500 had Bose... It was unremarkable to say the least.

But as T0ked pointed out, none of these flaws are as apparent from the drivers seat.

i doubt anyone will not buy the car :-).... but i think for many there is a point where it does not matter anymore.... 19-28-55? Does it matter at those levels? You will likely sit in it, enter your music and see how it sounds, thats by far the most important part.

I've always wondered why luxury auto makers never took the MartinLogan approach, using metal grills around the cabin to electrostatically reproduce sound, instead of individual speaker cones. True, they are expensive ($79,999 a pair)? But the grills could be placed throughout the cabin providing inclusive, 360 degree sound.
