FWIW, it's $2,800-$3,500 more than the regular RAV4 in Canada. The RAV4 Hybrid Limited crests the $40,000 mark with the Technology Package which includes TSS-P at $40,940 before taxes.
Edit: $2,675 for the Technology Package which includes TSS-P, JBL Synthesis Audio System w/ 11-Speakers in 7 Locations, Birds Eye View Monitor and Front/Rear Parking Assist Sonar (Is this the Intelligent Clearance Sonar?).
dunno what it is, except for new Prius, Toyota's parking sensors are just that, parking sensors... nothing too advanced. In Lexus, they know the way that wheels are turned and beep based on that, on Toyota's usually they dont.

Toyota used to call those "front and rear clearance sensors". I don't know if the name change is for the sake of a new name or if they're ICS. If the RAV4 doesn't have SIPA, then I suppose they could just be basic parking sensors.
Yeah and Lexus called it Intuitive Parking Assist.

i didnt see anything about that in Euro PRs which are usually detailed but lets see... I dont see why it wouldnt have IPA like in Lexus for instance, but they simply didnt do that before... I am almost certain it wont have new SIPA since it isnt announced anywhere and it is big enough to be.
Wear headphones! The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. With headphones or earbuds on, you'll feel like you're actually sitting in the driver's seat.
the reason why the current RAV EV sells so little is because it doesn't make sense to buy a previous generation model for more money. I dont think there is any other EV SAV on the market, this could sell in California.
Almost got motion sickness watching it with the head cam. Seems to have a lot of wind and road noise. I can distinctly hear the wind whistling from the side. Lots of tire roar on anything but smooth asphalt surface.

they would sell few hundred still... unless they give $10k discounts like they did for the old one.
Reality is that EVs and PHEVs are niche market, even in the USA. They sell PHEVs at huge discounts that make them cheaper than regular vehicles, yet they cost a lot more to make... it does not make sense for markets that dont get huge incentives, or for niche brands like Tesla... but there cant be 10 Tesla-like manufacturers, there would be no market... even Tesla is losing money despite "record" sales and they dont seem to be able to reach their target of 50-55k for 2015 (33k up until October). Thats worldwide too.
Until gas goes over $6 in the USA, and over $12 in the EU, EVs and PHEVs will continue to be niche vehicles, despite billions of incentives and billions of R&D by manufacturers.
Just like the title of this thread. 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. When I saw one on the dealer lot, on the window sticker, it said the engine is built it China. I guess that's how they were able to sell it just $700 over the regular RAV4.
