Default Should I buy a 2011 BMW 740i??

Im getting a great deal on a 2011 BMW 740i M Sport with 80k miles on it. I love BMW's but I'm afraid of all the service issues that come with them but with BMW warranty for and additional 3years 100k miles and the price I'm getting the car for its almost so cheap I'm wondering whats wrong with it.. Its very clean in and out would be a daily driver for my wife as it'll be a little tough giving her my 4GS for this. Any current or previous owners of the F01 740? It's powered by a twin turbo inline 6. What do you guys think? Should I do it or run away

How much?? If its too good of a deal its a bust 90% of a time. Used BMW with 80k is a scary buy. You have to put away $5000 just in case.

Sounds risky. Besides if I was getting a car of this caliber it'd have to be a 50i at least. Six cylinders in a flagship is still a foreign idea to me

I've done so much research on the N54 motor and can't find any problems other then valve cover gasket leak. Anyone have real life experience?

Isn't the N54 subject to HPFP failures?

Yes. Warrantys are ok but they only cover things like engine and tranny which rarely to go out. Most cars are made relatively well and dont have issue with trannys and engine. The things that go out are like solenoids, sensors, gaskets, electrical components and they are very expensive. A sensor for an accord will cost about $150 plus $100 for work, bmw it will cost $1200 plus $400 for work. Battery along will cost $200 plus.

i actually like German cars, but 80k is kinda high IMO. theres a reason why people dump these cars after 100k. good luck with search.

This is why I don't recommend buying extended warranty . This happens all the time with every warranty!!

Pre 13' 7 series, the 740 has less problems than the 750. Specially the motor.

If you really like the car and it has warranty, you should go for it and sell it before warranty

Runs out. You getting it cheap so probably won't lose much after 2 years.
